Publication number: 20040205680Abstract: One embodiment of the invention provides a system that characterizes cells within an integrated circuit. During operation, the system obtains a number of input noise signals to be applied to the cell. The system then simulates responses of the cell to each of the input noise signals, and stores a representation of the responses. This allows a subsequent analysis operation to access the stored representation to determine a response of the cell instead of having to perform a time-consuming simulation operation.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 9, 2003Publication date: October 14, 2004Applicant: Entire InterestInventors: Alexander Gyure, Jindrich Zejda, Peivand Fallah-Tehrani, Wenyuan Wang, Chi-Chong Lo, Mahmoud Shahram, Yansheng Luo, William Chiu-Ting Shu, SEYED ALIREZA KASNAVI

Publication number: 20030149856Abstract: A pointer structure on the storage unit of a non-volatile memory maintains a correspondence between the physical and logical address. The controller and storage unit transfer data on the basis of logical sector addresses with the conversion between the physical and logical addresses being performed on the storage unit. The pointer contains a correspondence between a logical sector address and the physical address of current data as well as maintaining one or more previous correspondences between the logical address and the physical addresses at which old data is stored. New and old data can be kept in parallel up to a certain point. When combined with background erase, performance is improved. In an exemplary embodiment, the pointer structure is one or more independent non-volatile sub-arrays, each with its own row decoder.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 6, 2002Publication date: August 7, 2003Applicant: Entire InterestInventor: Raul-Adrian Cernea

Publication number: 20030056085Abstract: An expanded arithmetic and logic unit (EALU) with special extra functions is integrated into a configurable unit for performing data processing operations. The EALU is configured by a function register, which greatly reduces the volume of data required for configuration. The cell can be cascaded freely over a bus system, the EALU being decoupled from the bus system over input and output registers. The output registers are connected to the input of the EALU to permit serial operations. A bus control unit is responsible for the connection to the bus, which it connects according to the bus register. The unit is designed so that distribution of data to multiple receivers (broadcasting) is possible. A synchronization circuit controls the data exchange between multiple cells over the bus system. The EALU, the synchronization circuit, the bus control unit, and registers are designed so that a cell can be reconfigured on site independently of the cells surrounding it.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 28, 2002Publication date: March 20, 2003Applicant: Entire InterestInventors: Martin Vorbach, Robert Munch

Publication number: 20030050654Abstract: An electromechanical surgical device includes: a housing; an elongated shaft extending from the housing, a distal end of the elongated shaft being detachably coupleable to a surgical instrument; at least two axially rotatable drive shafts disposed within the elongated shaft, a distal end of each of the drive shafts being configured to couple with the surgical instrument; a steering cable arrangement, the steering cable arrangement being configured to steer the distal end of the elongated shaft; and a motor system disposed within the housing, the motor system being configured to drive the drive shafts and the steering cable arrangement. A control system may be provided for controlling the motor system. A remote control unit may also be provided for controlling the motor system via the control system. Sensors, such as optical or Hall-effect devices, may be provided for determining the position of the elements of the surgical instrument based on the detected rotation of the drive shafts.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 26, 2002Publication date: March 13, 2003Applicant: Entire InterestInventors: Michael P. Publication number: 20020083757Abstract: A method for testing a Coriolis transducer having a mass adapted vibrate along a vibratory direction in a resonant structure and undergo a displacement along a sensitive axis, perpendicular to the vibration, in response to an angular rate about a mutually perpendicular rate sensing axis. In the absence of an angular rate about the rate sensing axis, forces, FTEST VIBRATORY and FTEST SENSITIVE, are applied on the mass along the direction of vibration and along the sensitive axis, respectively, in a predetermined ratio, N. The output VOUT TEST of the transducer is measured in response to the forces, FTEST VIBRATORY and FTEST SENSITIVE. With such method, a known test input angular rate &OHgr;IN TEST SIM is simulated, such rate, &OHgr;IN TEST SIM, being a known function of a measured characteristic frequency, for example the resonant bandwidth, BW, of the resonant structure.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 28, 2001Publication date: July 4, 2002Applicant: Entire InterestInventor: John Albert Geen

Publication number: 20020081389Abstract: This invention relates to a method for embedding a multiplicity of discrete masses of material in a resinous coating on a sheet of metal in a coil coating system. The sheet is coated, the masses are embedded in the wet resinous coating, and the coating is dried in a one-pass system. The resinous coating and the embedded masses are preferably resistant to ultra-violet radiation. The wet resinous coating, therefore, is preferably a liquid fluorocarbon resin. The discrete masses comprise pigmented particulate minerals and resins in the form of granules, beads, vesiculated beads, pellets, flakes, platelets, cylinders, coating powders, and coating powder precursor chips. The minerals include glass, quartz, mica, pebbles, and ceramics. The particulate resins include polyesters, acrylics, nylons, polyurethanes, polycarbonates, solid fluorocarbon resins, and solid mixtures of a fluorocarbon resin and an acrylate or methacrylate polymer or copolymer.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 1, 2002Publication date: June 27, 2002Applicant: Entire InterestInventors: Jack C. Publication number: 20020029016Abstract: A system for controlling patient temperature uses a central venous line catheter having axially spaced distal and proximal heat exchange balloons. The central venous line catheter is provided with one or more lumens for providing access to the central blood supply of the patient, and with additional lumens for communicating heat exchange fluid to the balloons. Heat exchange fluid temperature is controlled through a feed back loop in which patient temperature is sensed and used to control a temperature control unit comprising a heating device and/or a cooling device in heat exchange relationship with the heat exchange fluid. A tubing set transports the heat exchange fluid between the central venous line and the temperature control unit, with a pump serving to circulate the fluid in a closed fluid circuit in the system.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 10, 2001Publication date: March 7, 2002Applicant: Entire InterestInventors: Nora Tran Pham, Lynn M.
