Abstract: A method and plant for waste disposal are provided. A recirculating arrangement recirculates leachates generated by the processes of waste treatment into the plant itself, namely into a biofilter. The leachates are treated without need for providing a dedicated arrangement for purification and disposal. In addition, the recirculated leachates introduced into the biofilter represents an additional irrigation system for the filtering material of the biofilter and contributes to maintain its humidity advantageously high. Preferably, the leachates are introduced into the biofilter at an intermediate height of the biofiltering material bed, so as to obtain a kind of “submerged irrigation” of the biofilter. More preferably, the leachates are introduced into the biofilter as homogeneously and dispersedly as possible, so as to obtain a kind of “micro-irrigation” system for the biofilter.

Abstract: A method is provided for pre-treating biomasses, more particularly, for pre-treating biomasses intended for a biorefinery or similar facility for producing biofuels. The method comprises the steps of shredding the biomasses, removing foreign bodies contained in the biomasses upstream of the step of shredding, and soaking the biomasses by immersing the biomasses in water upstream or downstream of the shredding step. A plant for pre-treating biomasses is also provided. The plant comprises a shredding station for shredding biomasses, a station for removing foreign bodies from the biomasses upstream of the shredding station, and a soaking station for soaking the biomasses upstream or downstream of the shredding station.

Abstract: An impeller for a ventilation unit, especially for use in plants for the aerobic treatment of organic waste, is provided. The impeller comprises a housing, a pair of mutually facing plates received within the housing and provided centrall with a through-hole for a cylindrical hub, and a plurality of first radial blades arranged between the plates. The impeller further comprises second radial blades arranged on at least one plate, on its side facing the inner wall of the housing and extending from the cylindrical hub toward the periphery for creating an under-pressure zone in the central region of the impeller itself, at its hub. Thanks to this measure, condensate water deriving from the humidity of the air sucked/blown by the ventilation unit is prevented from leaking along the rotation shaft of the impeller, towards its motor and towards the outside environment.

Abstract: A ventilation unit is arranged to effect flow reversal, according to two opposite directions, of a gas flow generated by a fan without reversing the rotation direction of the fan. The ventilation unit includes a fan, at least a first piping arrangement through which a gas flow is intended to pass in one of the two possible directions depending on whether it is blown or sucked by the fan, and a switching assembly arranged between the fan and the at least a first piping arrangement, at least a pair of switching devices being provided in the switching assembly and being movable between two positions for selectively and alternately connecting the at least a first piping arrangement to a delivery duct and to a suction duct of the fan, so as to allow the passage of a gas flow in a direction or in the opposite direction within the at least a first piping arrangement.

Abstract: The present invention concerns a ventilation group that is capable of causing reversal of a gas flow according to two opposite directions, and that can be applied, in particular, to plants for the aerobic treatment of organic wastes through a phase of fermentation/bio-oxidation performed by means of forced air.
