  • Patent number: 6142161
Abstract: The clog resistant oil pan adapter for an engine flushing system has a main body portion having an interior duct, a tubular connector hub with a primary fluid entry port at the proximal end of the main body portion for connecting with the oil pan drain port, and a distal portion with an annulus with one or more exit ports. One or more secondary fluid entry ports are also formed in the proximal end portion of the tubular connector hub connecting with the interior duct for also receiving flushing fluid from the oil pan interior chamber. The secondary side fluid entry ports can be formed in the proximal end portion of the tubular connector hub and connecting with the primary fluid entry port at the end of the tubular connector hub. Alternatively, the secondary fluid entry ports can be formed in the proximal end portion of the tubular connector hub, and spaced apart from the primary fluid entry port.

  • Patent number: 6089205
Abstract: The adapter assemblies for an engine flushing system includes an oil filter port adapter assembly and an oil drain plug port adapter assembly for connection between an engine flushing apparatus and the lubrication system of an internal combustion engine. A plurality of adapter members of the oil filter adapter assembly are releasably secured together by a low tolerance sliding fit and indexed together by indexing pins in a low tolerance sliding fit, to prevent the connection between the adapter members from seizing up. In one embodiment, for a recessed, cartridge-type oil filter port accessible via the drain pan, the filter port adapter assembly comprises a first filter port adapter member, one end of which is placed within the filter port, and a second end of which is connected to the fluid supply conduit connected to the flushing apparatus.

  • Patent number: 6041798
Abstract: The oil pan drain port adapter assembly for an engine flushing system includes a main adapter member and a plurality of interchangeable adapter members. Each of the interchangeable adapter members includes a first threaded cylindrical end portion for engaging and mating with a corresponding threaded portion in the oil pan drain port, an opposing end portion forming an annulus, and an interior lumen connecting the first threaded cylindrical end portion and the opposing end portion in fluid communication. The opposing end portion of each interchangeable adapter member is received in the inlet end of the main adapter member at a fixed angle of orientation. The annulus has a plurality of apertures extending through the annulus to permit fluid flow from the interchangeable adapter member to the inlet of the main adapter member. A set screw extends within and rides in the annulus of the interchangeable adapter member, preventing the interchangeable adapter member from being dislodged from the main adapter member.

  • Patent number: 5474098
Abstract: Flushing apparatus for internally cleaning internal combustion engines includes an adapter system with sets of both oil port filter port and oil drain plug port adapter sets. For a kigiven engine a selected oil filter port adapter couples the fluid conduit from the flushing apparatus to the oil filter port on the engine block with the adapter allocating the flow of fluid between the two passages in that oil filter port in a predetermined ratio, approximately a ratio of 4 to 1, irrespective of the diameter of the oil filter port passages. A universal coupling member to which the adapter attaches is formed of two parts rotatably mounted to one another and includes a rotary gland. The companion set of oil drain plug port adapters for the flushing apparatus includes a universal coupling member of like construction.
