Abstract: A color impact matrix printer has replaceable color cartridges which are selectively brought into cooperative engagement with a print head. The printer includes a powered manifold for adjusting the print gap, a cartridge housing which is rapidly moveable by a lever system and a ribbon drive mechanism which allows for selective and incremental driving of each cartridge.
