Abstract: A tube or pipe clamp has two clamp members that are pivotably connected to one another at respective hinge-forming ends thereof. The tube or pipe clamp has a locking device that includes a shaft and a locking element operatively attached to the shaft, the shaft being pivotably attached to one of the clamp members. The other clamp member has a pair of prongs defining a slot for receiving the shaft of the locking device, the locking element being engageable with the prongs to lock the clamp members to one another at ends thereof opposite the hinge-forming ends. The prongs each have at least one projection on a side facing away from the one clamp member. Each of the projections is disposed proximate the free end of the respective prong.

  • Publication number: 20110290695
Abstract: The present invention describes a system (100, 100a, 100b) for dispensing and packaging bituminous products into blocks or slabs. Each block/slab of bitumen (200, 200a) is sealed by a bitumen compound film (160). The bitumen compound film (160) is made up of about 10-30% by weight of natural bitumen and about 5-25% by weight of a synthetic rubber polymer and copolymers. The bitumen compound film (160) is melted with the bituminous product and is fully compatible with the molten bitumen, leaving no residue but enhances the physical properties of the resultant bitumen mixture.

  • Publication number: 20080257778
Abstract: A bag stack assembly (10) comprises a stack of bags (12). Each bag in the stack comprises front and back walls with closed sides, a closed base end, an open mouth end opposite the base end and a pair of handles extending from the open mouth end. The handles are connected together by means of an attachment bar block of material spaced from the open mouth end. The stack is folded about a fold line F extending across the bag. A jacket (14) retains the stack in the folded condition. The bar block is retained in a separate retainer (16) which is secured to the stack by cooperation between a retainer formation (28, 30) and the bar block. The folded stack protrudes from the retainer to allow removal of the bag from the stack.

  • Patent number: 7229013
Abstract: Employees gain access to a payroll and work management system by authentication at a multi-purpose terminal with a bankcard encoded with a unique account number and a personal identification number (PIN). The terminal may then be used to check-in and checkout of work, to receive new work instructions or assignments, to review payroll details, to print a payroll stub, to execute financial transactions, to print a receipt of financial transactions or to review or to upload the results of work quality audits. The invention also includes systems and methods that utilize such multi-purpose terminals to calculate the payroll and deductions for each employee and to issue electronic fund transfers from the employer's bank account to deposit the net pay in a bank account associated with each employee's bankcard so that the pay is immediately accessible by each employee, such as by withdrawal of cash at an ATM or by purchases at a point of sale.

  • Patent number: 7152383
Abstract: A blind connection for joining foam core panels which comprise a central sheet of foamed resinous material having top and bottom rails and veneers bonded to opposite sides of the central sheet and the rails. The rails having abutting side edge faces with matching slots formed along the length of the side edges. Te slots have undercut retaining surfaces which are engaged by retaining surfaces formed on a joining member which is inserted into these slots in joining the panels in assembled relation. The use of modified joining members in connecting foam core panels that are in angled relation to each other is also described. Wear resistant retaining surfaces may be provided for slots in the foam core by solid polymer liners. Additionally a method customizing panels on an installation job site is provided through the use of portable electrically powered saw to cut a panel to a desired width and a portable electrically powered router to form and undercut slot for receiving a joining member.

  • Patent number: 6453633
Abstract: Light weight, foamed panels are suspended in spaced relation above the floor of an arena to create “privacy zones” which facilitate discussion and concentration on details. In the prior art, attachment of the panels to mounting rods was predicated on cementing wooden strips in the upper surface of the panel, in order to provide T-nuts, into which suspension rods are threaded. The improved installation employs a plurality of attaching members, each of which has a tubular body portion which is inserted through a vertically disposed hole in the foamed panel and an ornamental flange projecting laterally and underlying the bottom of the penal. Each tubular body portion has a threaded portion which is threaded onto a supporting rod. Torquing surfaces are provided on the attaching members to facilitate their being threaded onto the supporting rods.

  • Patent number: 4228912
Abstract: A container is formed by locating two panels in a jig so that the two panels have their adjacent edges nearly touching, the panels being in perpendicular planes. A mould is provided at the adjacent edges of the panels, and a casting resin is introduced to the mould to secure the panels together. Two pairs of panels thus formed are joined together in a similar way to form the walls of a container, and a base and lid are also connected to the walls in a similar way. The casting resin is a cold curing casting resin which, when cured is flexible. The panels are thus interconnected by flexible joints. The container is resistant against damage when dropped.
