    Abstract: A backwashable filtering device for thermoplastic plastics material comprises a housing (1) in which at least one feed channel (2) is provided for the material to be filtered and at least one delivery channel (3) is provided for the filtered material. At least one carrying body (4) is arranged in the housing, carries at least two nests of screens (8, 9) and is displaceable in the housing between a filtering position and at least one backwashing position. In the filtering position, distribution chambers (14, 15) arranged on the inflow side of the nests of screens (8, 9) are fluidically connected to at least one feed channel (2), and collecting chambers arranged on the outflow side of the nests of screens (8, 9) are fluidically connected to at least one delivery channel (3).

    Abstract: A device for the preparation of plastics material, in particular thermoplastic plastics material, has a receiving container (1) for the material, the interior of the said receiving container (1) having tools (21) provided therein which are arranged on a carrier disc (9). The tools are driven by a shaft (4) for rotation about the, in particular vertical, axis (8) of the shaft (4). At least one screw (17) is provided for the removal of the material out of the receiving container (1). The screw housing (16) has a feed opening (27) which is connected with respect to flow to a discharge opening (15) in the container (1), which discharge opening (15) is situated at a lower level than the carrier disc (9) and the tools (21) carried by it. Further moved tools (12), which convey the material into the discharge opening (15), are provided in the receiving container (1) below the carrier disc (9).

    Abstract: A method of setting pre-stressing, by which blades (11) of a granulating head carried by a shaft (12) which is driven by a motor (21) and which is displaceable in the axial direction of a granulating device abut against the perforated plate (8), makes use of the torque of the motor (21) for the said setting. To this end, the shaft (12) is adjusted at a constant speed in both axial directions in succession, the pattern of the torque M of the motor (21) being recorded over the displacement path x of the shaft (12) for both directions. The differential dM/dx is formed from this and the position x0 of the shaft is then determined for dM/dx =0. Starting from the said position x0 a position x=x0+xz of the shaft (12) is set, in which xz represents the desired advance of the shaft (12) in the direction towards the perforated plate (8). The device for carrying out this method provides for a sensing device (66) for the time pattern of the torque M of the motor (21).

    Abstract: A filter apparatus, particularly for filtering extruded thermoplastic synthetic plastics material, has a housing, within which two carrier members are shiftably arranged, each of which carries a sieve means consisting of two filter sieves. The material to be filtered is supplied to the entry side of the sieve means via an inlet passage. Within each carrier member there is provided a rinsing passage being in connection with the outlet side of the sieve means. The rinsing passage can be connected with the outlet passage when shifting the carrier member into a rinsing position. In this rinsing position, the entry side of the sieve means is at least partially connected with a space receiving the sieve contaminations or opens into atmopshere, respectively.
