Abstract: A method of producing a nut having a drive area and a clamping area, and a screw tap for performing the method. A bore hole running through the clamping and drive areas is produced in a cylindrical manner. The screw tap is screwed into the cylindrical bore until a predetermined position is reached. The screw tap is successively provided, when seen in an axial direction from the front side thereof, with a centering/cutting section, an adjoining cutting section which is used to produce a conical internal screw thread section in the clamping area, and a cutting section which is used to produce a cylindrical internal screw thread section in the drive area.
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for fastening components on a hollow shaft (1), during which process the components (21, 22, 23), exhibiting an opening, are put into specified positions on the hollow shaft (1) and for the purpose of fastening components (21, 22, 23) the hollow shaft (1) is expanded by introducing a pressure medium. Support matrices (3) are arranged only between the components (21, 22, 23) for the purpose of bracing the regions of the hollow shaft (1) between the components (21, 22, 23) during the expansion operation.
Abstract: A combined castellated and flange nut has a flange with a flat or conical underside, a clamping section with a conical internal thread and several axially parallel recesses, and a torque receiving second section between the clamping section and the flange. The second section has a cylindrical internal thread. At least the conical thread and the recesses of the clamping section are obtained by solid reshaping.
Abstract: A composite fastener which is comprised of a nut having a neck at one of its axial ends, and of a washer which at least partially surrounds the neck and is adjacent an external shoulder of a non-circular main section of the nut. That end of the neck which is remote from the shoulder is expanded to prevent an unintentional separation of the washer from the nut. The making of an internal thread in the nut is carried out subsequent to the expansion of the neck. The nut and the washer can constitute converted blanks which are converted by resorting to a press forging or cold forming or turning procedure.
