Patent number: 10207547Abstract: The invention relates to a shield-shaped side-wall protection element for a vehicle tire and to a protective device for vehicle tires. In order to provide a side-wall protection element for vehicle tires that can optimally protect a tire side wall under rough conditions, that can be produced economically, and is easy to install, the invention provides a shield-shaped side-wall protection element for a vehicle tire, comprising a radially inner base, an outer edge, which forms the radially outer end and which extends in a circumferential direction, and with a shield segment, which extends from the outer edge at least to the base, wherein the outer edge is at least partially offset axially inward from the base). The protective device for vehicle tires according to the invention comprises a plurality of shield-shaped side-wall protection elements arranged overlapping in the manner of shingles in a circumferential direction.Type: GrantFiled: July 11, 2014Date of Patent: February 19, 2019Assignee: ERLAU AGInventors: Johannes Werner Rieger, Daniel Urban

Patent number: 9950581Abstract: The invention relates to an anti-skid chain, in particular for forestry and agricultural vehicles. The anti-skid chain is to permit high traction, while it has a low weight and can be easily mounted. It should simultaneously be permitted for driving on roads. To enable this, an anti-skid chain to be attached to two wheels with tires disposed one behind the other at fixed distances, in particular for the two wheels of a tandem axle, is provided according to the invention. The anti-skid chain comprises two lateral, laterally stable guide chains which are located, in the mounted state, laterally of the tread of the tires. Between the two guide chains, a chain mesh with chain strands extends. Preferably, the chain mesh is subdivided into ladder sections which are only connected to each other via the guide chain. Joint points of the guide chains are located in a radial position between the radius of the tire shoulder and the tire center. The guide chains are in particular embodied as plate link chains.Type: GrantFiled: February 1, 2013Date of Patent: April 24, 2018Assignee: Erlau AGInventors: Mathis Weerts, Johannes Rieger

Patent number: 9108475Abstract: The invention relates to a locking plate (1) for tensioning a tire chain by means of a ten-sioning chain (46), and to an arrangement, comprising a locking plate (1) and a pull-through bracket (40). The locking plate comprises a locking slot (10) whose clear width is greater than a thickness and smaller than an outer width of the chain links (34) of the tensioning chain, and with a pull-through opening with an inner contour into which an outer contour of the tensioning chain can be entered. The tensioning chain can be captively received in the locking plate transversely to its longitudinal extension to be movable between a locking position (18) arranged in the region of the locking slot and a pull-through position (16) arranged in the region of the pull-through opening.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 2011Date of Patent: August 18, 2015Assignee: Erlau AGInventors: Mathis Weerts, Ruediger Wendt, Bernd Roesler

Patent number: 8303045Abstract: A protective device for tire walls has a holder for attaching the protective device on a wheel. The protective device has protective elements connected to the holder. The protective elements are shape-stable parts that under load are elastically deformable. They extend approximately radially away from the holder. The protective elements do not protect the entire tire but only the endangered area of the tire walls.Type: GrantFiled: September 4, 2009Date of Patent: November 6, 2012Assignee: Erlau AGInventors: Hansjörg Rieger, Johannes Werner Rieger, Zvonimir Bogdan
