  • Patent number: 4586731
Abstract: A tube fitting with a one-piece ferrule adapted to shear during assembly into two cutting rings for serial setting of the cutting edges thereof into the tube surface. The rear cutting ring is deformed and guided by the previously set front cutting ring at a preferred cutting angle. Engagement of abutment surfaces on the cutting rings determines a final position for the rings and provides a signal to the assembler that the joint is completed. The undeformed ferrule includes a conical front cutting ring having a cutting edge of one diameter, a cylindrical rear ring having a cutting edge of larger diameter, an external annular groove and an enlarged bore therebelow which in part forms the rear cutting ring and controls deformation thereof. The annular groove is placed to define a shear zone between the cutting rings and the shoulders of the groove are the abutment surfaces for determining completed joint position.

  • Patent number: 4576049
Abstract: A pressure measuring device wherein a housing (1) includes a pressure sensor (2) in a pressure chamber (4) and an electronic circuit (14) in a non-pressurized chamber (6). Borings (7) extend between pressure chamber (4) and non-pressurized chamber (6) and accommodate contacts that electrically connect pressure sensor (2) and electronic circuit (14). A pressure membrane (3) cooperates with housing (1) to further define pressure chamber (4) and isolate the device from the fluid system. Pressure chamber (4) is filled with a medium that transmits the system pressure to pressure sensor (2). Pressure sensor (2) measures the pressure and provides an output signal to electronic circuit (14).

  • Patent number: 4142741
Abstract: A pivotal screwed fitting for joining pipes has a hollow body including a coupling nipple for attachment to the end of one of the pipes. The hollow body is adjustable about the axis of the coupling nipple. The fitting further has a hollow screw arranged in the hollow body. The hollow screw has a threaded end portion to be screwed into another one of the pipes for tightening the hollow body to the last-named pipe. The hollow screw has a plurality of ports which maintain communication between an axial blind bore of the hollow screw and an annular channel defined together by the hollow body and the hollow screw. A connecting passage defined by a wall of the hollow body maintains communication between the coupling nipple and the annular channel. The passage widens from the coupling nipple in the direction of the annular channel; the wall defining the connecting passage has an at least approximately rotationally symmetrical configuration with respect to the axis of the coupling nipple of the hollow body.
