Abstract: A device and method for association with a rotatable powered roller having an elongate cylindrical roll surface adapted to be moved over a surface of newly laid fluid and surrounding formwork, wherein the manner of association is such that the roller surface includes an elongate substantially cylindrical texturing portion and at least two guide portions, the guide portions being adapted to support the texturing portion at a required level with respect to the fluid surface in a manner to ensure partial embedding of texturing material distributed thereon, use thereof in texturing a fluid surface, method for texturing a fluid surface and a fluid surface obtained thereby.
Abstract: A saw (10) is provided comprising a frame (20) containing a saw blade (22) and a fluid motor (24), and a handle (28) connected to the frame (22) incorporating means (36b) for connecting to a fluid supply and throttle means for controlling the fluid supply, wherein at least the portion of the handle (28) incorporating the throttle means is releasably connected to the frame (22) or the remainder of the handle so that the throttle means can be relocated elsewhere in the fluid supply. Preferably, the saw (10) further comprises a trolley (40) on which the frame (22) is releasably mountable so that the saw (10) can be operated either as a floor saw or a hand saw. The handle portion (28) can be relocated to the handlebar (50) of the trolley (40) to give the operator direct control over the fluid supply. Alternatively, separate throttle valves can be supplied on the saw (10) and the trolley (40) to achieve the same object.
Abstract: Planing apparatus is disclosed having a rotatable cutting drum comprising a central, rotatable support, a plurality of secondary supports spaced around the central support and in parallel relationship thereto, and a plurality of apertured cutting members mounted on each secondary support and axially spaced apart. The spaces between the cutting members on one of the secondary supports is bridged or almost bridged when viewed in a direction normal to the axis of the drum by the cutting members on one or more of the other secondary supports. The drum is housed for rotation in a base structure having rear wheels and front wheels which can be displaced vertically to adjust the depth to which a surface, e.g. a road surface, is to be planed. The drum and wheels are driven by a motor supported on the base structure. Various different types of cutting members are disclosed.
Abstract: Groove cutting apparatus having a rotatable cutting drum comprising a plurality of spaced drum segments coaxially mounted on a central shaft. A plurality of secondary shafts are spaced circumferentially around the central shaft and supported by the drum segments. Apertured cutting members are mounted on the secondary shafts and spaced by the drum segments.
