    Abstract: A disintegration testing device for detecting the disintegration behavior of solid particles, in particular tablets, in a liquid, which comprises a supporting or holding device including a carrier which is movable in the upward and downward directions for supporting a vessel containing solid particles, a liquid bath into which the vessel can be submerged, a first lifting device which during normal operation moves the carrier and thus the vessel in the liquid in the upward and downward directions, and a second lifting device elevating the vessel from the liquid upon termination of one testing operation. The first lifting device includes a lifting arm which is driven by a motor through a drive shaft and a first roller disposed at a given distance spaced therefrom and supporting the supporting device.

    Abstract: A disintegration testing device for samples (20), in particular tablets, in which the samples (20) provided in a disintegration cage (10) inserted into a solvent, are positioned between a Hall generator (27) and a disk (21) having a magnet (28). When the sample (20) disintegrates the disk together with the magnet (28) approaches the Hall generator (27) so that the magnet (28) emits a signal which upon exceeding a switching threshold value is fed to a recording device and is displayed at display units (26). The disintegration cage (10) is removably arranged at the disintegration testing device and has no wired connections. The transmission of the energy for the electric circuitries in the disintegration cage (10) is provided by using contacts or by means of a high-frequency emitter and a high-frequency receiver. The transmission of the signals to the recording device is effected by means of opto-electronic components, in particular an infrared light bridge.

    Abstract: A sample handling apparatus comprises probes for taking liquid samples from reaction vessels, pipes connected to the probes by lines and adapted for releasing the liquid samples into test tubes arranged below the pipes and for taking-in replenishing liquid from a storage trough, and a pump for transporting the liquid samples from the probes to the test tubes and for feeding replenishing liquid from the pipes to the reaction vessels. In the sample handling apparatus the lines are completely rinsed with replenishing liquid between taking samples. The sample handling apparatus may also be adapted for diluting the liquid samples in the test tubes and for feeding the diluted liquid samples to a measuring unit.

    Abstract: A transport unit for tablets transports the tablets fed from a filling unit through the use of a rake with at least one V-like fork on a horizontal guiding track to tablet testing stations, packaging units etc. The guiding track comprises on either side of the area swept by the point of the V-shaped fork openings through which may fall the tablets which are not at the point of the fork during the transport. The openings of the guiding track are connected by an inclined plane to a collector container.

    Abstract: In a device for taking and measuring samples having several testing vessels containing the samples in a testing liquid, the testing liquid is supplied to the individual testing vessels from a reservoir through a first pump and first valves which are connected to each testing vessel. From the testing vessels the samples are supplied to one or more detector cells, through second valves which are connected to the testing vessels. The second valves are arranged in a row behind each other. Between the last valve of this row and/or the detector cell(s), a second pump is provided. Thus, a serial withdrawal of samples from the individual testing vessels can be carried out with only two pumps, and the contents of the testing vessels are refilled to the nominal filling level from the reservoir at the same time.

    Abstract: A holding device for holding test samples, in particular tablets, in a testing station for measuring the breaking strength of the test samples comprises a supporting structure carrying a rotatable mounting support supporting a plurality of press pads having gripper means or a cushion at their lower ends for being adapted to the shapes of the samples, each press pad being adapted to one particular sample shape, and which press pads align and/or hold the samples on a base plate. A drive means is provided for rotating the mounting support such that the press pad suitable for a particular sample is brought into an operating position in the testing station. A lowering means is operative for lowering the respective press pad just being in the operating position down to the base plate in order to align and/or hold the sample in the testing station.
