Abstract: A handle repair device for removing a broken, damaged, and/or worn handle from the working head of a handle mounted tool such as a sledge-hammer, spike maul, or pick axe. The handle repair device includes a frame for holding the working head of the handle mounted tool and an actuating member mounted in the frame for selectively extending a ram into engagement with the handle in the working head to force the broken handle out of the working head of the tool.
Abstract: A device for handling railroad timber, including ties, bridge timbers, crossing planks, and bundles of ties and timbers, which comprises spaced-apart pivotally mounted gripping members or jaws for engaging longitudinally along the timber, actuating levers connected to the jaws, and a lifting harness for connecting the device to a lifting machine, such as a crane, wherein the lifting harness is connected to the actuating levers and when raised applies a force to the actuating levers and the gripping members to tightly engage the timber so it can be lifted, moved or repositioned.
Abstract: A demolder for and a method of separating and removing mold material formed around two rail ends of longitudinally adjacent railroad rails during the use of a thermite weld system to join the rails into a continuous rail. The demolder includes an open-ended steel box sized to be positioned about the mold material having substantially aligned slots provided on opposite sides of the box to freely receive the rail and a handle extending upwardly from the box for moving and handling the box.
