Abstract: The invention relates to a water-containing slip for producing a BN-containing coating on a substrate, which comprises, based on the solids content of the slip, a) 45-90% by weight of BN, b) 3-25% by weight of boehmite nanoparticles, c) 0.5-5% by weight of at least one borate, d) 2-30% by weight of at least one water-insoluble boron compound which is different from the components a) and c), e) 2-30% by weight of an organic compound, where the solids content of the slip is 15-60% by weight. The slip according to the invention is suitable for producing self-healing and hot-flexible coatings which are outstandingly suitable for foundry applications.
Abstract: The invention relates to a plate heat exchanger composed of a plurality of plates (1), preferably made from sintered ceramic material, in which fluid-flow guide channels (2) are formed as a system of channels in such a way that a substantially meandering profile of the fluid flow is obtained over the surface area of the respective plate, the side walls (3) of the guide channels (2) having a plurality of apertures (4), which lead to turbulence of the fluid flow. The invention also relates to a method for the production of such a plate heat exchanger, in particular by a diffusion welding process in which the plates are joined to form a seamless monolithic block. The plate heat exchanger according to the invention is suitable in particular for applications at high temperatures and/or with corrosive media, and also as reactors.
Abstract: The invention relates to a sintered wear-resistant material which is based on transition metal diborides and comprises a) as main phase, 80-98.8% by weight of a fine-grained transition metal diboride or transition metal diboride mixed crystal comprising at least two transition metal diborides or mixtures of such diboride mixed crystals or mixtures of such diboride mixed crystals with one or more transition metal diborides, where the transition metals are selected from sub-groups IV to VI of the Periodic Table, b) as second phase, 0.2 to 5% by weight of a continuous, oxygen-containing grain boundary phase and c) as third phase, 1-15% by weight of particulate boron carbide and/or silicon carbide.

Abstract: The invention relates to a slip for producing a durable hard coating on a substrate, comprising a) silicon nitride particles and b) a binder comprising nanosize solid particles and/or precursors of nanosize solid particles from production via a sol-gel process. The invention further relates to shaped bodies composed of a substrate with a durable hard coating which has been produced from a slip according to the invention.
