  • Patent number: 5137664
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the treatment of dental impressions of conventional molding material, in which the surface of the impressions is treated prior to filling with plaster with an aqueous solution which contains 0.01 to 10 % by weight of a fluorine compound. The detrimental effect which the surface-active substances adhering to the dental impressions have on the surface finish of the plaster models which are produced using the dental impressions is thus eliminated.

  • Patent number: 4919603
Abstract: A device for repairing damages caused by stones on windshields comprises a syringe (10) the discharge opening (14) of which is inserted into an applicator (11) adhesively affixed to the windshield (29) by means of a sealing disk (12). The syringe (10) is pre-filled by the manufacturer with a predetermined amount of a liquid synthetic resin which is curable by light. By retracting the syringe plunger (17), a vacuum is created for removing air and moisture that may have penetrated into the damaged portion (30). In its rearmost position, the plunger (17) exposes a vent hold (23) formed in the wall of the syringe casing (13) so that the resin will then be urged into the damaged portion (30) by the ambient atmospheric pressure.

  • Patent number: 4916805
Abstract: For the attachment of components using the SMT method a procedure is suggested in which the adhesive used is activated prior to fitting of the components to the circuit board by irradiation with light having a wavelength in the range of 200 to 600 nm to such an extent that the desired initial tackiness is maintained and there is no formation of skin on the surface of the adhesive. This makes it possible to cause the adhesive composition to fully cure in a shorter time and at lower temperature than has been possible so far without the wettability of the adhesive during the fitting of the components to the circuit board being impaired.

  • Patent number: 4890931
Abstract: A mixer for dental capsules has a fork-type capsule holder which includes a pair of rigid arms (1, 2) one of which is provided with a pin (10) that passes through an opening (11) provided in the other arm (1). A helical spring (13) disposed about the pin (10) creates a tilting moment about the capsule holding location which causes the pin (10) to be caught by edges forming the opening (11), thereby producing a self-locking action which is not released during the mixing movement. For inserting and removing a capsule (5) in the inoperative condition of the mixer, the fork may be readily opened by pulling a handle (16) provided on the one arm (2) against the relatively weak force of the spring (13).

  • Patent number: 4839566
Abstract: An electric lamp for the photopolymerization of dental materials is supplied with constant electric power so that constant light output is obtained. The control circuit used to this end operates with a triac (3) connected between an a.c. voltage supply (2) and the lamp (1), said triac being controlled by signal values stored in a read-only memory of a microprocessor (4). Said stored values are respectively allocated to pairs of instantaneous values of lamp current and lamp voltage, the instantaneous values being detected in each cycle of the a.c. supply voltage and being utilized to address the read-only memory.
