Abstract: A radome with constructed panels that are mechanically fastened to each other to form a truncated faceted spherical structure. Each panel is constructed of a metal frame and a membrane attached to the frame. The mechanically fastened frame beams panel-to-panel contact spaces are sealed to prevent water ingress.

Abstract: An improved hi-rail wheel assembly includes a frame connected to an axle tube surrounding an axle, a pair of railway wheels mounted in spaced relation on the axle tube, a first pair of pivotal links connected between a frame and the axle, and a second pair of pivotal links connected to the frame and the axle. The hi-rail wheel assembly is attached to a conventional roadway vehicle such that the extension of said pivotal links effects a downward lowering of the axle and the railway wheels from the frame and lifts the vehicle whereby the vehicle tires engage the railroad track, and the retraction of the pivotal links effects an upward lifting of the axle and railway wheels towards the frame such that the vehicle tires engage a ground surface or roadway. Each pivotal link includes a cam aperture and a recessed cam shoulder surrounding the cam aperture to receive a cam.
Abstract: A low-cost spherical reflector and a mechanically scanned antenna system utilizing such reflectors. The system employs one or more (substantially similar) primary spherical reflectors (each a truncated spherical surface), each having an associated moveable feed driven by a two-axis positioner mechanism that has few moving parts. The feed structure may preferably comprise a point source waveguide feed in combination with a shaped concave secondary reflector used in a Gregorian-like configuration to correct for spherical phase error. The positioner mechanism moves the waveguide feed and secondary reflector in tandem to shift the position of the far field beam direction in the sky. After phase correction by the secondary reflector, the resultant signal reflected from the primary aperture can simultaneously transmit and receive at two or more independent frequencies.
