Patents Assigned to Esterline Electronics Corporation
  • Patent number: 4122420
Abstract: A permissive make double throw electromagnetic switch having maximum efficiency in utilizing electrical energy supplied thereto, though being extremely small and compact for use on printed circuit boards. The means for moving the contact actuator comprises a pivotal armature which carries a permanent magnet and a pole piece whereby the permanent magnet causes the pole piece to be drawn into engagement with the core of an electromagnetic winding to thereby move the armature to a retracted position. Energization of the winding causes the armature to be drawn into attracted position in engagement with the core, the flux path through the armature being directly through the core and other flux-conducting means.

  • Patent number: 4041426
Abstract: A miniature armature relay having a substantially flat header and a cover therefor. Attached to the header is an electromagnetic operator which comprises an electromagnetic winding and a reciprocatable armature therewithin which carries a disc-shaped contactor.Mounting lugs are fixed to the header on opposite sides of the armature, and individually carry a stationary contact to be engaged by the contactor. Alignment means comprising a pair of anchor lugs on opposite sides of the armature, and a flexible member secured to the armature and such anchor lugs is also included. A biasing spring urges the armature to retracted position and the electromagnetic operator overcomes such spring in response to energization of the winding thereof.

  • Patent number: 4005420
Abstract: A self telemetering miss-distance radar method and system of high sensitivity and free of second-time-around echoes is provided by phase modulating a continuous wave signal with the output of a repetitive code source such as a pseudo-random noise generator. That signal is transmitted as the radar signal. Returning echoes are applied to one input of a product detector to whose other input a sample of the unmodulated CW signal may be applied. The mixer output contains the product of the CW signal and the echo. The echo includes the CW signal modified to include the noise code and Doppler shift. That product signal is applied to a second product detector to which a delayed version of the noise code is applied. If the code in the echo arrives at the second product detector in unison with the delayed code, the output level will be high. If not, it will be low. The second detector output, the second product signal, is passed through a Doppler filter.

  • Patent number: 4005298
Abstract: An electrically conductive moveable support member for use as a contact carrier, contactor or armature support.Such electrically conductive support member is formed of electrically conductive material of sufficient cross section to carry the desired current, and is formed with reverse convolutions which may be interleaved to provide a small, compact, support member. The convolutions are formed about the mid-point of the length of the material, to leave opposite end portions, one of which may be supported to a base member and the other of which is provided with a contactor, armature or the like.

  • Patent number: 3968470
Abstract: A magnetic motor for use as an actuator for devices such as relays, indicators and the like.It comprises an electromagnetic winding having a core member to the opposite ends of which are fastened pole pieces which cooperate with a magnetically movable armature. An additional pole piece as well as a permanent magnet are also provided. One end of the armature is caused to contact or engage one of the pole pieces or, in the alternative, to engage or contact alternatively several different pole pieces. The opposite end of such armature is shaped so as to provide a generally U-shaped air gap with the other pole piece, and the armature is so positioned as to move from one side of coplanar relationship with such other pole piece to the other side thereof.
