Abstract: A device for cleaning liquid surfaces to remove a pollutant therefrom. The device comprises a barrier adapted to float on the surface of the liquid. The barrier comprises two diverging wing portions. Inlet means are provided and are adapted to receive the polluted material prior to passing the polluted material to a recovery apparatus. The device further comprises only hitching means adapted to maintain each of the wings spaced from one another at one of their ends while the barrier is being towed. Each of the wing portions of the barrier comprises a wing rope adapted to at least partially float on the liquid surface.

Abstract: A method of and apparatus for folding food articles in sheet form such as crepes, includes allowing a crepe to drop by gravity from the end of an upper conveyor on which the crepe is transported from a cooking apparatus, catching the crepe in a hollow casing configured to cause the crepe to fold over on itself along a line perpendicular to the direction of movement of the crepe on the conveyor, and passing the folded crepe, folded edge first, between the bite of a pair of vertically displaced, horizontally disposed feed rollers, whose axes are perpendicular to the direction of movement of the crepe on the conveyor, for feeding the folded crepe onto the upper surface of a lower conveyor. To facilitate the folding operation, the crepes traveling on the upper conveyor may be softened prior to the folding operation by passing the crepes through a humidifying tunnel.

Abstract: A heating device comprising at least one drum open at both ends thereof. The drum is adapted to continuously rotate around a substantially horizontal axis. The device further comprises at least one burner arranged within the drum which itself comprises a nozzle positioned so as to direct a flame in a direction substantially perpendicular to a plane passing through the center of the drum and an air inlet for providing oxygen to the burner. A fixed divider is provided within the drum so as to divide the interior space of the drum into a central and exterior space. The burner nozzle is positioned in the exterior space formed while the air inlet to the burner is positioned within the central space.

Abstract: Products such as pancakes, obtained by baking or heating a paste spread tly in a given configuration are made on a machine comprising a smooth and continuous baking surface, which can be flat or evolute, actuated in relative movement with respect to a spreader constituted by a cylinder with a smooth surface dipping into a paste tank at a substantially constant level and arranged to transport and to transfer the paste onto the baking surface at the level of two close generators situated respectively on the baking surface and on the spreader and called transfer generators. A so-called "obturator" is arranged in the immediate vicinity of the generator of the spreader situated at the level of the surface of the paste on the emergence side, and called extraction generator, eliminates the contact necessary for the drawing of the paste by the spreader at certain points of the generator.
