  • Patent number: 5674186
Abstract: A halo adapted to enclose the forehead and temples of a patient including at least two frontotemporal bars (1) which are joined to each other, and two half-arches (2) which are joined to each other and are fixed connected with the frontotemporal bars, the joined half-arches forming an arch enclosing the posterosuperior zone of the cranium of the patient. The frontotemporal bars (1) and the half-arches (2) are interconnected through bars (4, 5) overlapping the contiguous ends of the former. The mutually facing portions of the frontotemporal bars, the half-arches and the interconnecting bars include orifices (7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12) facilitating rigid fastening together thereof by assembly screws (6). At least some of the orifices of the interconnecting bars, the frontotemporal bars, and the half-arches being oblong slots (7, 8, 12), facilitating adapting the dimensions of the halo to the morphology of the cranium of the patient.

  • Patent number: 5549710
Abstract: A system for assembling two components of a prosthesis in a plurality of positions which are adjustable in orthogonal translation, and selectively in rotation and angularly. In the system, a projecting part integral with one of these components is engaged in a recess, forming a hollow part of the other component of the prosthesis, or of an intermediate connection element, while screws arranged transversely with respect to the lateral walls of the cell come into abutment, as in the prior art, against the lateral flanks of the projecting part, but without the base of the hollow part bearing directly against the facing surface of the projecting part.

  • Patent number: 5376138
Abstract: A device has a valve (21) activated by hydraulic fluid in opposition to a resilient restoring element (27) and blocking off an outlet in the bottom of a cylinder ( 3 ) when the fluid, responsive to being compressed by a piston (5), exerts a specified pressure subsequent to an involuntary movement on the part of a femoral amputee wearing the device so as to correct the gait of the amputee.

  • Patent number: 5116381
Abstract: The invention relates to a prosthesis for a leg amputee, comprising a thermoformed framework made of a thermoplastic material or of a laminated substance, covered with a coating material and comprising a socket (1), a leg part (2) and a prosthetic foot (3), one adjoining the other.According to the invention, the framework of the leg part (2) and the prosthetic foot (3) constitutes a monobloc assembly, produced in a single casting operation, and in that the prosthetic foot comprises, at the level of the sole, a cut having served for the extraction of the molding core and, at the level of the heel, above the sole, a cut (9) of wedge formation lending itself to a flexion of the rear of the sole relative to the leg part.
