    Abstract: A modular rail member facilitates the translation of load-bearing carriages on an overhead track and comprises a vertical wall formed with two sections of different lengths which are spaced apart from and connected to each other by a flare having a vertical web. The two spaced-apart sections have ends curved in the same direction, and a vertical plane passing through the horizontal outer edges of the curved ends is set back relative to the vertical web.
