  • Publication number: 20160220503
Abstract: A method for the production of biodegradable nanoparticles with an average particle size of less than 400 nm. • Publication number: 20160221228
Abstract: A method for the self-assembled production of a topographically surface structured cellulose element. First, a mold is provided having on one side a first surface which is in a complementary manner topographically structured and which is permeable to oxygen. Next, a liquid growth medium containing cellulose producing bacteria is provided. Then, the mold is placed to form a interface such that the side of the mold with the first surface is in direct contact with the liquid growth medium, and an opposite side is facing air or a specifically provided oxygen containing gas surrounding. This allows bacteria to be produced and deposit cellulose on the first surface and developing on the interface a surface structured surface complementary thereto, until a cellulose layer with a thickness of the element of at least 0.3 mm is formed. Finally; the element is removed from the mold.

  • Publication number: 20160208731
Abstract: Feedback control of combustion in a gas diesel dual-fuel engine (20), based on the measured cylinder pressure, has been invented. The center of combustion and pressure rise rate is controlled by manipulating the start of diesel injection and duration of diesel injection. Measurements of transient engine operation show, that the proposed controller is able to control the center of combustion and the maximum pressure rise rate. The influence of changing intake manifold pressure, changing exhaust gas recirculation rate and changing air-fuel ratio can be compensated by the controller (10). Steady state measurements show that the gas diesel dual fuel engine reaches efficiencies around 40% with stoichiometric air-fuel ratio and diesel ratios below 5%. The results have been obtained on a slightly modified production type common-rail diesel engine with four cylinders and a displacement volume of 2 litres.

  • Patent number: 9398215
Abstract: Systems and methods to generate stereoscopic panoramas obtain images based on captured images. The obtained images may be processed and/or preprocessed, for example to compensate for perspective distortion caused by the non-ideal camera orientation during capturing, to reduce vertical parallax, to align adjacent images, and/or to reduce rotational and/or positional drift between adjacent images. The obtained images may be used for interpolating virtual in-between images on the fly to reduce visible artifacts in the resulting panorama. Obtained and/or interpolated images (or image fragments) may be stitched together to form a stereoscopic panorama.

Abstract: Approaches are described for tone-mapping an image frame in a sequence of image frames. A tone-mapping pipeline applies a spatiotemporal filter to each pixel of the image frame, based on a forward optical flow and a backward optical flow, to produce a base layer image. The tone-mapping pipeline applies a temporal filter to each pixel of the image frame, based on the forward and backward optical flows, to produce a temporally filtered frame. The tone-mapping pipeline produces a detail layer image based on the base layer image and the temporally filtered frame. The tone-mapping pipeline produces a detail layer image based on the base layer image and the temporally filtered frame. The tone-mapping pipeline applies a tone curve to the base and detail layer images to produce a tone-mapped base and detail layer image, respectively, and combines the tone-mapped base and detail layer images to produce a tone-mapped image frame.
