    Abstract: A method and composition of treating an oil or gas well having a wellbore, well casing, production equipment or recovery equipment. The method involves introducing into the wellbore, well casing, production equipment or recovery equipment a high flash point solvent blend. The blend includes at least one C1-C4 ester of a C16-C20 fatty acid component, at least one terpene hydrocarbon component (e.g., a pure gum turpentine, an oil of turpentine, or mixture thereof), and optionally at least one emulsifier component. The weight percent ratio of the at least one C1-C4 ester of a C16-C20 fatty acid component to the at least one terpene hydrocarbon component is from about 60:40 weight percent to about 95:5 weight percent, based on the total weight of the blend. The blend has a flash point greater than about 140° F. The blend may be biodegradable, and has no ozone depleting compounds, no hazardous air pollutants, and no carcinogens.

    Abstract: A cleaning composition comprising a blend of at least one C1-C4 ester of a C16-C20 fatty acid component, at least one terpene hydrocarbon component, and optionally at least one emulsifier component. The weight percent ratio of the at least one C1-C4 ester of a C16-C20 fatty acid component to the at least one terpene hydrocarbon component is from about 10:90 weight percent to about 99:1 weight percent, based on the total weight of the blend. The weight percent ratio is such that the blend has a flash point greater than about 118° F. A method of cleaning a surface of a substrate comprising applying the cleaning composition to a substrate surface having an undesirable residue thereupon, and removing the undesirable residue from the substrate surface. The blend may be biodegradable, and has no ozone depleting compounds, no hazardous air pollutants, and no carcinogens.

    Abstract: The present disclosure provides compositions and methods of use of cashew nut shell liquid (CNSL) and its derivatives as one of the components for decreasing the viscosity of heavy oils, extra heavy oils, high asphaltene natural bitumen, and tar sands (i.e., heavy oils). The decrease in viscosity of heavy oils increases the ability of the heavy oil mixture to be piped, transported, stored and used. The present disclosure provides compositions containing at least one of anacardic acid, cardanol and cardol, and at least one of a surfactant, a co-solvent, and water. The present disclosure provides compositions that are useful as viscosity reducing agents, heavy oil upgrading agents, wellbore cleaning agents, enhanced oil recovery agents, and cleaning agents for asphaltene-containing materials. Biofuel compositions are also provided by the present disclosure.

The reaction of the composition with the filter cake results in acidic conditions, thereby eliminating any need for follow up acid treatments. The composition is stable enough to effectively remove filter cake at temperatures up to 250° F. or greater. Through filter cake removal, the method provides for increased flow, production, and/or recovery of oil and gas hydrocarbons from a subterranean formation.

    Abstract: A method of using a fluid formulation for increasing flow, production, or recovery of oil and gas hydrocarbons from a subterranean formation. Components including a peroxygen, surfactant, alkali metal chelate, and a cosolvent into a hydrocarbon bearing subterranean formation having a blockage or accumulation of material. Oxygen or carbon dioxide gas is generated by decomposition of the peroxygen which creates gas pressure in the formation. The formed gas pressure mobilizes, degrades, removes, releases, realigns or redistributes the material causing the blockage or accumulation physically. The aggregate pH of the components is less than about 10 or a concentration of alkali metal chelate is greater than about 0.2% and less than about 5% by weight of non-water components.
