Abstract: An intercalation compound of general formula Na.sub.x K.sub.1-X Z.sub.y, wherein Z is a carbon or a polymer with a cyclic, particularly aromatic unit, as base unit; 0<x<1; and 2.ltoreq.y.ltoreq.6. A method for preparing the compound is also described, as well as the use thereof, particularly in pyrotechnics and in lithium batteries.

Abstract: A damper device comprising a first and second assembly suitable for guided relative displacement. The first assembly is supported stationarily with respect to a reference. The second assembly is supported for guided relative displacement with respect to the first assembly and the reference. A driving connection connects the second assembly and a system to be damped. A shoe rests against the first assembly and a resilient control that works in buckling is interposed between the shoe and the second assembly. The resilient control exerts a force on the shoe tending to urge the shoe against the first assembly during an active stage of damper device loading, corresponding to relative displacement in a first direction between the first and second assemblies and to reduce the force exerted by the shoe during a passive stage of damper device loading corresponding to relative displacement in a second direction between the first and second assemblies.

Abstract: A pyrotechnic device for launching at least one projectile includes, in a longitudinal launcher tube closed at the rear by a rear wall, a closure member expelled when subjected to a longitudinal force exceeding a predetermined threshold and retaining at least one projectile on opposite sides of which are a front chamber and a rear chamber in which an impulse cartridge builds up a gas pressure simultaneously. In this way a plurality of projectiles can be fired sequentially by means of a single impulse cartridge.

Abstract: The invention relates to a pyrotechnical head of the type comprising an elongate envelope, a pyrotechnical composition contained in the envelope, and dispersal means for dispersing said pyrotechnical composition. The dispersal means include longitudinal detonating fuses adapted to split the envelope longitudinally, and a transverse detonating fuse adapted to split the envelope transversely.

Abstract: Weapons system comprising a fixed reference, a launcher tube slidingly mounted in relation to the fixed reference and a damper inserted between the fixed reference and the launcher tube. The weapon further comprises a lock serving as a stop for the damper in the launching position, so as to avoid displacement of the damper in the initial launching phase, and a sensor which reacts to projectile launching, capable of releasing the lock so as to rearwardly eject the unit formed by the damper and the launcher tube.

Abstract: A device for simultaneously ejecting two fluids, in particular pyrotechnic fluids, intended to react on contact after ejection includes a reservoir for each fluid open to the exterior of the device through a respective nozzle. The two reservoirs comprise a respective cylinder/piston combination and simultaneous ejection of the two fluids is achieved by displacement of one piston inside the respective cylinder and mechanical coupling of the pistons. The ejection rates are in constant proportion defined by the section of the piston regardless of how full the reservoirs are.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a pyrotechnical system comprising at least one flexible elongate pyrotechnical-function element and means suitable for deploying said elongate element in a chosen direction, wherein the system further comprises a support structure comprising an inflatable flexible container which receives the elongate element and which is provided with internal spacer fins suitable for supporting the elongate element, for being deployed simultaneously therewith, and for supporting the pyrotechnical-function element above the ground.

Abstract: The invention relates to a radioaltimeter type detector comprising an oscillator-transmitter (10), a modulator (20) suitable for frequency modulating the oscillator-transmitter according to a given characteristic, a mixer receiving the signal from the oscillator-transmitter and a corresponding echo signal reflected by a target, and a discriminator circuit (50, 60) connected to the output from the mixer. According to the invention, the modulator (20) includes a digital memory (21) containing a series of values defining the frequency modulation characteristic of the oscillator-transmitter (10).

Abstract: The present invention relates to a container-disperser for chaff constituted by metal strips or by metallized strips, the container-disperser comprising two end plates (130, 140) which are generally parallel and interconnected by spacers (150, 155) suitable for trapping strips of chaff so as to temporarily retain at least a portion of the chaff when the container is ejected from a case, thereby dispersing the chaff in stages.

Abstract: A shoulder-borne weapon for use as a rocket launcher is disclosed. To enable its use in an enclosed space with any complication or excess weight, and without imposing any appreciable recoil effect on the gunner, for all that, at least one weapon tube is guided in limited longitudinal, sliding motion with respect to a barrel comprising shoulder rest means, grip means and firing control means, and means are provided to exert force elastically on the weapon tube, frontwards with respect to a pre-determined firing direction, so as to dampen the recoil motion of the weapon tube with respect to the barrel.

Abstract: A projectile comprises a pyrotechnic charge and a mobile member inside the projectile which rotates between a safe position and an armed position. At least part of a pyrotechnic delay device is accommodated in a passage in this mobile member. The pyrotechnic charge is initiated via this pyrotechnic delay device. The passage is oriented so as to isolate functionally the pyrotechic delay device from the pyrotechnic charge when the mobile member is in the safe position. It functionally couples the pyrotechnic delay device to the pyrotechnic charge when the mobile member is in the armed position. The projectile further comprises an arrangement on the mobile member and on the projectile to guide relative rotation between them about an axis fixed relative to the mobile member and relative to the projectile. A mechanical arming device retains the mobile member in the safe position and against rotation about the aforementioned axis relative to the projectile at least until the projectile is fired.

Abstract: A projectile has a central part relative to the longitudinal direction of the projectile which is the direction in which it is fired. The projectile contains a pyrotechnic charge in the form of two identical operational charges. These are offset longitudinally relative to the central part of the projectile and symmetrically disposed one on each side of this central part. The projectile further contains a device for initiating the pyrotechnic charge subject to a time-delay. This device is accommodated in the central part of the projectile and adapted to initiate the two operational charges simultaneously.

Abstract: A cartridge comprises a longitudinal tube having a transverse open end. A projectile is accommodated in and can slide longitudinally inside the tube. The projectile is ejected from the tube through the open end by sliding longitudinally relative to the tube. There is a pyrotechnic charge in the projectile. A device for securing delayed initiation of this charge comprises a fuse, a percussion member in the projectile movable between a retracted position in which it is removed from the fuse and a striking position in which it strikes the fuse, a device adapted to hold the percussion member temporarily in its retracted position and complementary mechanical devices on part of the projectile and part of the tube facing the path followed by this part of the projectile as it is ejected.

Abstract: A pressure plate for a mine comprises a hydraulic circuit. The mine is triggered by complete depression of the pressure plate. The hydraulic circuit comprises a pressure chamber containing a fluid that is compressed by a force applied to the pressure plate. The fluid is evacuated from the pressure chamber in a controled manner through a depressurization unit in response to a sustained force greater than a predetermined threshold being applied to the pressure plate. A bistable member moves between a first position in which it prevents communication between the pressure chamber and the depressurization unit and a second position in which it establishes communication between the pressure chamber and the depressurization unit. The bistable member is initially in the first position when no force is exerted on the pressure plate. It remains in the first position so long as the pressure plate is subjected to an increasing or stable force.
