  • Patent number: 5592748
Abstract: An apparatus for the treatment of solid particles having a substantially circular metal coil with at least two turns helically would around a vertical axis and a central shaft, a lateral pipe for introducing particles and a lateral pipe for drawing off particles, a low voltage current tapping point for heating a turn of the coil by Joule effect to 20.degree.-1000.degree. C., an assembly of two pipes with a lateral pipe for introducing a fluid and a lateral pipe for drawing off a fluid such that the fluid can flow through at least one turn of the coil and means for imparting vibrations to the shaft and coil to advance the particles.

  • Patent number: 5508243
Abstract: For the treatment of solid catalyst or adsorbent particles, particles are urged upwardly in at least one vibrating helical coil having at least two pitches or turns, the particles being subjected to a temperature profile on most of their path within the coil and being contacted with at least one fluid over at least part of their path. At least one pitch or turn of the coil is heated by the Joule effect at a temperature between 20.degree. and 1000.degree. C.
