  • Patent number: 11946815
Abstract: An input module includes a terminal block and a removable printed circuit board (PCB). The terminal block includes first and second connector assemblies for electrically coupling first and second electrical wires of an external thermocouple to the PCB. At least one of the first or second connector assemblies includes an internal thermocouple. The internal thermocouple has two conductive legs which are formed of different materials and are separated at an end to form a jaw connector for connecting or disconnecting an edge of the printed circuit board to or from the terminal block respectively. The PCB includes a sensor for measuring a temperature on the PCB, and a processing circuit configured to perform cold junction compensation using a cold junction temperature which is determined based on temperature measurement from the sensor and a temperature or voltage measurement from the internal thermocouple, when measuring hot junction temperature of the external thermocouple.

  • Patent number: 11908304
Abstract: A method and system are provided for managing an alarm. The method and system can capture occurrences of an alarm for a monitored process; track the occurrences, including whether the occurrences, including a current occurrence of the alarm and a prior occurrence of the alarm, have been acknowledged by a user; and record alarm information for the occurrences of the alarm in a memory. The alarm information can include each occurrence of the alarm and information associated therewith including a timestamp of the occurrence and whether the occurrence of the alarm is acknowledged or not by the user. The method and system can further present or enable presentation of unacknowledged occurrences, from the tracked occurrences, for acknowledgement by a user. The unacknowledged occurrences can include a prior occurrence of the alarm. The recorded alarm information is updated to reflect the acknowledgement of the prior occurrence of the alarm when acknowledged.

  • Patent number: 10461537
Abstract: A method for operating an unbalanced load manager for a three-phase induction motor or heater, includes receiving, by a load manager, values representative of current flow sensed by current sensors and voltages sensed by voltage taps corresponding to phases of a three-phase power system providing power to the motor or heater. The method includes detecting, by the load manager, a transition from positive or negative to zero current, to measure a phase shift between line-to-line and current. The method further includes synchronizing, by the load manager, firing from line-to-line signal to line-to-neutral signal of phases of the three-phase power system, using the measured phase shift between line-to-line and current.

  • Patent number: 10302362
Abstract: Estimating the time of reaching steady-state uniform load temperature of a load in a heat treatment process in the absence of a load temperature sensor. In an embodiment, a system utilizes signals and parameters available on a temperature controller to estimate the period of time required for a load to reach a steady-state temperature in a heat treatment process. When the estimate of the temperature of the load reaches the steady-state condition, the system advances the heat treatment process from a load heating phase to another phase.
