Abstract: A washbasin drain assembly comprises a drain body which defines a drain passage connecting the interior space of the washbasin to the waste line and a drain plug in cooperative engagement with the drain body for selectively sealing the drain passage. A sieve is fitted removably in the drain body downstream of the plug relative to the direction of flow from the basin to the waste line.

Abstract: A galley waste collection system for a passenger transport vehicle having a vacuum sewage collection system includes a basin for receiving galley waste and a normally-closed discharge valve connected between the outlet opening of the basin and the sewer pipe of the vacuum sewage collection system. A flush element is responsive to operation by a user of the galley waste collection system to issue a discharge command, and a control unit operates selectively in response to the discharge command to open the discharge valve.

Abstract: A vacuum toilet unit comprises a toilet bowl, an operating mechanism for the toilet function, and an outer shell enclosing both the toilet bowl and the operating mechanism. In normal use of the toilet unit, substantially all of the externally applied load exerted by a user of the toilet is carried by the shell. In order to allow service access to the bowl and operating mechanism, at least a substantial portion of the shell is removable without any substantial influence on the support of the bowl or operating mechanism.

Abstract: A connection arrangement for a toilet system having an emptying tube connected to a closed sewage collection tank. The emptying tube has an end portion that extends through a wall and has a free end that projects from the wall for receiving in a socket of a coupling hose. A cover is attached to the wall and is moveable relative to the wall between an open position, in which the cover allows free access to the free end of the emptying tube for emptying the sewage collection tank, and a closed position, in which the cover protects the free end of the emptying tube against contamination and damage. A plug is attached to the cover and engages the free end of the emptying tube when the cover is in the closed position and is disengaged from the free end of the emptying tube when the cover is moved from the closed position to the open position.
