    Abstract: A combined hard top and convertible top car comprises a car and a cap which has the configuration of the convertible top when the top is in up or elevated position and overlies the convertible top. The cap comprises of top wall, a rear wall, a rear wall and side walls. The cap includes front flanges along the front edge of the top wall which engage under the front edge of the convertible top, rear flanges along the rear wall which engage under the front edge of the car body adjacent the rear wall of the convertible top and side flanges along the side walls that engage the sides of the car body.

    Abstract: A customized automobile having a rear window and a top including a plastic cap overlying the rear window and a portion of the top and one or more sections provided in partially overlapping relation. The plastic cap and sections are provided with a cloth covering. In one form, each section includes a transverse raised portion to simulate the support structure of a convertible. The cap and sections may be provided in a kit so that the plastic cap maybe used alone or together with one or more section.

    Abstract: A customized roof construction and method of making for changing the appearance of an automobile which has a side window opening wherein a portion of the body of the automobile covers a desired window position in the customized roof which comprises masking a portion of the window while leaving another portion of the window and the portion of the body associated with the window unmasked, applying a deeply tinted transparent panel over the unmasked portion of the window and the portion of the body where it is desired to provide the effect of the desired window, thereafter, applying a roof cap with a window opening corresponding substantially to the area of the tinted panel such as to provide a window having the substantially different configuration from the original window of the automobile with a portion of the window overlying a portion of the body of the automobile.
