Abstract: The outer surface of the base of a heated C channel is brought to bear against the surface of a laminate to be bent about and adhered to the curved edge of a substrate by pivoting a frame pivotally attached to a substrate supporting platform. A torque tube supports the C channel to inhibit bending and twisting of the C channel. A plurality of pairs of pneumatic cylinders extend from the frame to urge the torque tube and attached C channel toward the curved edge and to maintain the base of the C channel in progressive tangential contact with the point of attachment of the laminate to the curved edge while minimizing sliding movement between the base of the C channel and the laminate.
Abstract: A jig and workpiece transport mechanism for making a curvilinear cut with a conventional band saw continuously linearly translates and rotationally reorients a jig and an attached workpiece to maintain the saw line at the cutting edge in the workpiece aligned with the band saw blade.
Abstract: A manually operated guide forms a sheet of heated pliable laminate about an adhesively coated 180.degree. rounded edge of a substrate, such as may be found on the front edge of a countertop. The guide is pivotally attached to a support member at an initial angle to guide the laminate along the major portion of the rounded edge and at a different angle to guide the laminate along the remaining portion to assure continuing progressive contact between the laminate and the rounded edge.

Abstract: A substrate to be laminated is passed from a feed and brush table through an adhesive spreader, which spreader applies a pattern of adhesive along the top and bottom surfaces of the substrate. An index table, having a plurality of supporting rollers, supports a bottom laminate to be adhered to the bottom of the substrate at a predetermined indexed location. The substrate is transported onto the indexing table to a predetermined indexed location while being supported along its longitudinal edges by cone-shaped rollers to maintain undisturbed the pattern of adhesive. At the indexed location, the substrate drops onto the underlying laminate in predetermined relationship thereto. A top laminate to be adhered to the top surface of the substrate is positionally indexed on the index table and lowered onto the substrate.
Abstract: A relatively quiet-operating rotary hammer for use in apparatus for securing T-edging and similar edging bands. The hammer includes a pivoted hammer head that is intermittently and continuously impacted to provide a hammering action. The hammer is impacted by a rotary structure carrying spaced hammering elements for forcibly pivoting the hammer head.
