Abstract: A multi-purpose cooking appliance comprising: a self-supporting base, a lid mountable on the base, a cooking chamber defined between the base and the lid, a heat conductive pan within the cooking chamber, a heat source connected to the heat conductive pan, removable, elongated skewers for supporting food within said cooking chamber, the skewers being formed of a heat conductive material and having a length sufficient to span the length of the conductive pan and rest thereon, and at least one tray including a surface engageable with a surface on said pan to locate the tray within the cooking chamber, the tray being dimensioned to be spaced from the pan.

Abstract: A power control device is to be used with a pressing iron which includes a soleplate, a housing mounted on the soleplate and provided with a handle, a heating device disposed in the housing and operable so as to heat the soleplate, and a power supplying unit for supplying electric power to the heating device. The power control device includes a switch circuit adapted to connect electrically the heating device and the power supplying unit, an optical sensor unit adapted to be mounted on the handle of the housing, the optical sensor unit generating a first control signal when the handle is released and a second control signal when the handle is gripped, and a timer circuit connected electrically to the switch circuit and the optical sensor unit.

Abstract: An electronic timer activates a switch circuit so as to connect electrically a heating device and a power supplying unit of a coffee maker for a predetermined brewing period in order to heat water that is supplied to a filter basket and that comes from a water reservoir of the coffee maker. The processing unit activates the switch circuit for the predetermined brewing period when the brewing time coincides with the current time. A temperature sensing unit includes a temperature-controlled switch which connects the switch circuit to the heating device when temperature of the heating device is below a lower limit of a predetermined temperature range, and which disconnects the switch circuit from the heating device when the temperature is above an upper limit of the temperature range. The temperature sensing unit further includes a signal generating circuit which interconnects the temperature-controlled switch and the processing unit.
