    Abstract: The disclosed filter element is a screen filter having a vane arranged on the outside surface of a screening element for improving the filtration of solid contaminants from a liquid undergoing filtration. A single cartridge screening element may be quickly cleansed with in a minimum time interval with raw water and without requiring the removal of the filtering element.
