Abstract: A method of fabricating a III-V solar cell package includes providing a solar cell having a first side and an opposite second side, forming a first insulating layer on the first side of the solar cell, forming a second insulating layer on the second side of the solar cell, forming a light-transmitting layer on the first insulating layer, forming a protection layer on the second insulating layer, and laminating the light-transmitting layer and the protection layer so as to attach the first insulating layer to the light-transmitting layer and the solar cell and to attach the second insulating layer to the protection layer and the solar cell, thereby forming a flexible solar cell package since the insulating layers, the light-transmitting layer and the protection layer are all flexible.

  • Publication number: 20120147477
Abstract: A lens includes a glass substrate, and a silicone layer adhered to the glass substrate and having a pattern formed on an outer surface thereof. Since the light-transmissive silicone layer is directly adhered to the glass substrate, without the use of an adhesive layer, the fabrication cost and thickness of the lens are reduced, and the objective of thinning the lens is achieved.

  • Publication number: 20110073158
Abstract: A power supply apparatus includes a first carrier and a second carrier connected with each other through a plurality of supporting rods, a plurality of light collecting units disposed on the second carrier, and an actuating rod group movably disposed on the first carrier. The light collecting units each have an upper portion pivotally connected to the second carrier and a lower portion pivotally connected to the actuating rod group. When the actuating rod group moves, the lower portion of each of the light collecting units swings about the upper portion with an amplitude corresponding to the position of the sun such that a lens assembly on each of the light collecting units faces the sunlight, thereby enhancing the light collecting efficiency.

  • Publication number: 20110067747
Abstract: A concentrated photovoltaic module includes a carrier, a plurality of side plates coupled to the carrier and having a plurality of openings, and a light-collecting unit having a lens assembly disposed above the carrier and a solar cell assembly disposed below the carrier. A receiving space is defined and formed by the carrier, the side plates, and the light-collecting unit. Water vapor, which might otherwise adversely affect photoelectric conversion taking place in the solar cell assembly when trapped inside the receiving space, is discharged from the receiving space through the openings, thereby reducing the possibility of damaging the solar cell assembly and prolonging the service life the photovoltaic module.

  • Publication number: 20100229948
Abstract: A concentrated solar power module including a lens, a light shield plate, a solar-powered electricity generator, and a heat-dissipating element is provided. The lens allows sunlight to be focused to a specific area and is coated with a self-cleaning material. The light shield plate is provided beneath the lens and formed with an opening for selectively admitting the sunlight focused. The solar-powered electricity generator is formed beneath the opening for receiving the sunlight penetrating the opening. The solar-powered electricity generator includes a solar cell and a secondary light transmissive member coated with a self-cleaning material and configured to hermetically seal the solar cell. The heat-dissipating element is mounted on the solar-powered electricity generator to dissipate heat generated by the solar-powered electricity generator.
