  • Patent number: 4913650
Abstract: An apparatus for the heat treatment of a continuously moved wire which loops in several turns round a drum arranged in a heat-treatment zone, has at least one tension roller which is assigned to the drum and around which each wire turn is looped in series with the drum, and the axle of which is displaceable in parallel and/or pivotable relative to the axle of the drum counter to the effect of a limited tension force exerted by a tensioning device, thereby preventing the wire from breaking in the event of an interruption in operation and the stopping of the drum.

  • Patent number: 4580458
Abstract: The transmission comprises two pairs of aligned coaxial shafts (3,5,12,13) capable of being moved by way of a control relative to each other in an axial direction and having associated therewith at their respective facing ends or sides in each case a clutch disk (37,38,39,40). The shafts can be coupled in various combinations by way of a clutch body (2) disposed so as to be freely shiftable and rotatable between the two pairs of clutch disks. In order to dispose the motor and the elements driven by it on the same side of the transmission, the first pair of coaxial shafts is formed from an extension (3) of the drive shaft (1) extending beyond the clutch element or body (2) and from a hollow shaft (5) concentrically surrounding this extension (3) and connected to it under a fixed transmission ratio.

  • Patent number: 4529858
Abstract: A multispot grid-welding machine has an electrode-carrier beam movable up and down and a plurality of guide rods mounting a plurality of electrode units for movement on the beam. Pressure springs bias the electrode units in a direction towards the grid being welded, each electrode unit being movable into a working position and a rest position in which it is retracted. A plurality of return springs act on the electrode units, the return springs being considerably weaker than the pressure springs and acting to shift the respective electrode units on the working position into the retracted position. Devices are provided for advancing selected electrode units into the working position by overcoming the force of the return springs.

  • Patent number: 4526025
Abstract: A bending mechanism for wire or strip material is provided, which is intended in particular for bending back towards the edge longitudinal wires the projecting end portions of crosswires of reinforcement grids for reinforced concrete construction. The mechanism comprises a substantially circular-sectioned cylindrical bending form, and a bending-tool eccentrically mounted on a rotatable tool carrier which can be rotated in either direction about the axis of the bending-form. The bending-form is shiftable along said axis between a working position, in which the end faces of said tool carrier and said bending-form are substantially touching, and a rest position in which said two end faces define between them a gap for the passage of a wire which is to be bent, in particular a crosswire of a reinforcement grid.

  • Patent number: 4506818
Abstract: In order to be able to remove the wire from its supply source and in order to be able to prevent a bending of the wire, a wire-feed-clamp (3) can be moved along an alignment element (2) which, in a fixed position, is arranged on a carrier (1), whereby the wire-feed-clamp (3) produces a one-sided gripping effect and whereby a hollow needle (8) is affixed on the front side of the wire-feed-clamp (3), for the purpose of penetration of the solid body; at the rear extremity of the alignment element (2), a return-motion stopping-element (11) for the wire is arranged which, in the same sense as the wire-feed-clamp (3), produces a one-sided gripping effect and is aligned with the hollow needle (8) and whereby in front of the alignment element (2), a cutting element (20, 21) is arranged for the purpose of cutting-off the wire section which, at any given time, had been pushed through the solid body.

  • Patent number: 4503650
Abstract: A grid mat consists of longitudinal (L) and transverse (Q) wires welded to one another, in which at least some transverse wires project beyond the longitudinal edge wires and are bent back to these in the form of loops (S).For the purpose of space-saving stacking of the grid mats in the same way and with the same devices as used for grid mats with perfectly straight longitudinal and transverse wires, at each mat edge at least the curved parts of the loops (S) formed by the ends of the transverse wires are angled or curved out of the plane of the transverse wires (Q) so far in the direction of the plane of the longitudinal wires (L) that the arches of the loops lie between these two planes.

  • Patent number: 4496820
Abstract: In a multispot resistance welding machine, the electrodes (8,9) of which are fed with D.C. pulses from a rectifier unit (2) via two busbars (5,7) running across the welding machine, the busbars (5,7) are arranged on opposite sides of the plane of weld and the two poles (1,3) of the rectifier unit (2) are connected each to one of the opposite ends of the two busbars (5,7). The busbars (1,3) from the rectifier unit (2) are arranged parallel with the busbars (5,7) feeding the electrodes and the busbars (5,7) are at equal distances away from the centerline of the busbars (1,3) and are connected directly or via short leads to the electrides (8 and 9 resp.). Alternatively the two poles of a second rectifier unit arranged antisymmetrically with respect to the first rectifier unit on the opposite side of the plane of weld, are connected in parallel to the opposite ends of the two busbars.

  • Patent number: 4466304
Abstract: The power transmission has two pairs of coaxial shafts (1,15 and 2,30 respectively) which are aligned with one another and are displaceable relative to one another and carry at their adjacent ends a coupling disc (3,16 and 4,31 respectively) upon each, which can be coupled at option by a central freely rotatable coupling body (12). In order also to enable direct connection of the driving shaft (1) to the driven shaft (2), one shaft each of the two aligned pairs of shafts (1,15 and 2,30 respectively) is formed by the driving shaft and the driven shaft respectively (1 and 2 respectively) and the other shaft is made as a coaxial hollow shaft (15 and 30 respectively) and is coupled via a gear wheel (23 and 38 respectively) and a back gear (26 and 51 respectively) to a gear wheel (22) on the driving shaft (1), or respectively coupled or able to be coupled via a gear wheel (50) to the driven shaft (2).

  • Patent number: 4439658
Abstract: The disclosure relates to the production by means of an electrical resistance welding method, of grids formed from metal wires crossing over another. The grid wires are carried through between rows of cooperating electrodes and, under pressure, are welded together at the cross points of the wires by an electric current. Each cross point of the wires and the surfaces of the associated electrodes of the grid welding machine, which lie in the welding region, are subjected to the action of a liquid coolant to increase the life of the electrodes and reduce distortion of the grid due to the localized heating of the wires.

  • Patent number: 4360724
Abstract: The invention relates to apparatus for and a method of moving a grid (G) longitudinally in stepwise fashion through a multi-spot welding machine by means of an element (5) arranged to engage a transverse rod (D) of the grid at a starting position, move the grid (G) forward through a number of steps at a first mean speed, and thereafter disengage from the rod (D) and return to the starting position at a mean speed greater than the first mean speed. The movement of the element (5) is controlled by a computer (31) so as to return to its starting position if the time required for its return from the position which it would occupy after the next step is greater than a preset maximum standstill time between steps.

  • Patent number: 4299523
Abstract: A machine for stacking mesh reinforcement grids alternatingly in initial and reversed orientations includes a frame on which the grids to be reoriented are held during the reversing operation. The frame is mounted on swivelling arms for swivelling therewith and for turning relative thereto between two positions, and the frame is turned through 180.degree. relative to the arms during their swivelling to one of such positions and held stationary relative thereto during the swivelling toward the other position. Guide rails are retractably positioned along the feed path of the grids to support those grids which are not to be reoriented, prior to the retraction of such rails which takes place before the release of the reoriented grid from the frame.
