Abstract: A multilingual conversation database has subdatabases set according to a combination of languages different from each other for use in a conversation. Each of the subdatabases has a first area for setting a conversational situation and a second area for storing units of languages likely to be used for respective situations; if the situation in the first area is selected, a language unit in the second area corresponding to the situation is displayed. A multilingual conversation system comprises the multilingual conversation database and a communication facility into which the database is downloaded.
