Abstract: An apparatus for restoring a deformed portion of a beverage preparation capsule to a shape that approximates its original shape. The apparatus comprises a seat configured to accommodate the capsule, a bending device configured to engage the deformed portion of the capsule, and a drive device to relatively move the bending device and at least part of the seat to cause the bending device to restore the deformed portion of the capsule to a shape that at least approximates its original shape.

Abstract: A beverage vending machine with a stirrer dispenser configured to form and dispense disposable stirrers from a strip made of food-grade material, preferably biodegradable or compostable and preferably plastic-free and waterproof. The stirrer dispenser comprises a detaching device configured either to detach, or to allow manual detachment of, an end piece of the strip with such a length as to be usable as a stirrer.

Abstract: A cup dispenser comprising a cup-holder turret comprising a plurality of columns containing respective stacks of cups and each provided with an associated cup release device operable to release individual cups from the stack of cups; and an electronically-controllable actuator assembly comprising a first electric actuator to rotate the cup-holder turret; and a second electric actuator to operate the cup release devices of the columns.

Abstract: Control of temperature of water delivered by a dual-stage water heater having an external boiler with a first heater as first stage and an internal duct (water booster) with a second heater as second stage. A control loop based on a measured water temperature in the boiler and controls the first heater. A second loop calculate a reference booster water temperature based on the temperature error at the outlet (difference between a measured outlet water temperature and a reference outlet water temperature) and controls second heater based on error between reference booster water temperature and measured booster water temperature. The reference outlet water temperature depends on type of beverage (e.g. espresso, cappuccino) and includes a temperature profile with different temperature for different sub-beverages (e.g. coffee, milk). Takes into account physical response times, inertia of heater and anticipate sudden changes of reference water temperature at hot water outlet.

Abstract: A device for storing and dispensing coffee beans, comprising a hopper defining a chamber adapted to contain the beans and provided, on the bottom, with an admission opening; a support base to support the hopper; a rotary dosing device rotatably mounted in a seat to rotate from and to a rest position, and provided with at least one cavity open on the outer surface of the rotary dosing device; and vacuum generating means to create and maintain the vacuum within the chamber. The dosing device has at least one annular groove engaged by a V-ring seal comprising a sealing lip, which, in said rest position, is compressed against an annular surface of the seat to seal the chamber and it is oriented relative to said seat, so as to be further compressed against said annular surface when subjected to a vacuum created in the chamber when air is sucked out therefrom.

Some of the rollers comprise a first separator, and other denesting rollers comprise at least a second separator.
