Abstract: Electrical separators for batteries, especially lithium batteries, having a shutdown mechanism. A process for their production. An electrical separator is used in batteries and other systems in which electrodes have to be separated from each other while maintaining ion conductivity. Safety is very important in lithium batteries, since in contrast to other types of battery (Pb, NiCd, NiMeH) the solvent for the electrolyte is not water but a combustible solvent. A separator for lithium cells must possess a shutdown mechanism while not being able to melt down. This is achieved by an electrical separator having a shutdown layer which comprises particles which melt at a desired temperature, close the pores of the separator, and so stop ion flow. Since the separator also comprises a porous inorganic (ceramic) layer on a carrier, the cells cannot melt down as a result of a completely melted separator.

Abstract: The invention is directed to an improved, reliably performable process for preparing triallyl isocyanurate (TAIC) by Cu2+-catalysed rearrangement of triallyl cyanurate (TAC) at least 90° C. According to the invention, TAC and, if required, also a Cu2+ catalyst and solvent are fed continuously to a start reaction mixture after onset of the initially inhibited isomerization reaction, the isomerization is performed at from 90 to 160° C. and an amount of reaction mixture equivalent to the amount of reactant is drawn off continuously and sent to the workup. Preference is given to effecting the isomerization in TAIC as the reaction medium.

Abstract: In a production method for producing molded articles from fiber composites, superparamatic particles are selected which become coupled to an external alternating magnetic field. These superparamagnatic particles are added to a resin portion of a strip-shaped starting material further comprising reinforcing fibers. The strip-shaped starting material is then continuously advanced, and, while being advanced, heated by coupling-in an external alternating magnetic field to which the superparamagnatic particles in the resin portion become coupled. Next, the heated starting material is continuously molded into a molded article; and the resin portion in the molded particle is cured.

Abstract: The present application relates to a reaction system in which chemically valuable compounds can be obtained in high enantiomer concentrations with the aid of a coupled enzymatically operating transformation process. The coupled enzymatic reaction system comprises a cofactor-dependent enzymatic transformation of an organic compound and an enzymatic regeneration of the cofactor, wherein the reaction system operates in aqueous solution with an amount of substrate above the solubility limit thereof. In the preferred embodiments, an alcohol dehydrogenase is the cofactor-dependent enzyme, and the regeneration of the cofactor (e.g. NADH or NADPH) is acheved by means of formate dehydrogenase.
