Abstract: A process for determining the profile of the surface of the lining of the grinding bowl of a rolling mill in which the constant change in the angle .alpha. of the grinding bowl that is necessary for accelerating transport of the product being ground is calculated as a correlation of the distance to the turning point of the rolling mill for several radii, the frictional value between the grinding rolls and the grinding bowl lining and the rotational speed of the grinding bowl being constant values in calculation.
Abstract: A nozzle assembly which comprises nozzle duct having inlet and discharge ends is provided with a tubular support. The support has a first end in fluid communication with the nozzle duct adjacent the discharge end thereof. The second end of the support extends to a location where it is accessible, to enable a source of cleaning fluid to be coupled thereto, and is normally capped.
Abstract: The temperatures of the primary carrier gas supplied to a coal pulverizer and the fuel stream discharged from the pulverizer are controlled to keep the fuel stream temperature within a predetermined safe and efficient operating range regardless of the rate at which coal is fed to the pulverizer. A carrier gas temperature versus coal feed schedule is established and used for temperature control. If fuel stream temperature departs from the predetermined operating range, the established schedule is automatically corrected.
Abstract: Vibration in the operation of a rolling mill is minimized by mixing unground raw material with partially ground material being recirculated in such a manner that the material fed to the bowl of the mill is homogeneously mixed whereby variations in the frictional forces within the bowl will be reduced. If necessary, the moisture content of the mixture being fed into the mill bowl may be increased to ensure that the grinding operation is performed efficiently.
Abstract: A roller mill-bowl lining comprising a plurality of individual segments disposed adjacent to each other in an annular ring-like arrangement. The segments of the ring have the adjacent end portions thereof configured in an angular, interlocking shape so that upon the breakage of one of the segments the lining will not lift away from the mill bowl.
