Abstract: Provided herein is a modular photovoltaic assembly configured for installation on an exterior of a building that includes a photovoltaic panel, first and second mounting rails, and first and second mounting brackets configured to fittingly engage with each of the first and second mounting rails, where each mounting bracket has a length on the longitudinal axis between opposing first and second lateral ends, the first lateral end having a resilient arm adapted to be fittingly received in a slotted recess of a distal end of each mounting rail, the second lateral end having an upper resilient member and a lower resilient member spaced a distance apart on the z-axis, and the upper and lower resilient members are adapted to fittingly secure therebetween a portion of one of the photovoltaic panel, another adjacent photovoltaic panel, a building or fitting panel, and a roof tile.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a photovoltaic assembly for incorporation into a tiled roof, the assembly comprising: (i) a photovoltaic panel comprising a transparent top sheet and a backsheet, and one or more photovoltaic cells positioned between the top and backsheet; (ii) two side elongate elements extending vertically along the sides of the panel; (iii) an upper elongate sealing element extending in a horizontal direction, and attached to an upper end of the side elongate frame elements and above the photovoltaic panel, (iv) a lower elongate sealing element extending horizontal direction and attached to the panel in horizontal direction on the underside of the panel; wherein at least one of the side elongate frame element extends laterally to form a flashing portion that substantially interlinks with the underside of a laterally positioned roofing component.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a photovoltaic element comprising: •i. a light transmissive, coloured multilayer top sheet having an appearance that exhibits a colouration change depending on the viewing angle, the top sheet comprising: •a. a textured transparent front cover sheet (2), and •b. a pigmented top coating layer (3) disposed on the backside of the top sheet with respect to the direction of the incandescent light; •ii. a first encapsulant layer (4); •iii. one or more photovoltaic cells (5), each comprising at least one photovoltaically active surface, and comprising two electrically-conductive electrode layers with a photovoltaic material disposed between them; •iv. a second encapsulant layer (6), and •v. a back cover sheet (7).
