Abstract: According to one embodiment, a method comprises coupling to a slotted tube a member having a passage. The method further comprises aligning a passage of an arm with the member's passage, and coupling a through-surface coupling mechanism through the aligned passages, wherein the through-surface coupling mechanism forms an axis about which the arm can rotate. According to another embodiment, a system comprises a slotted frame comprising female slots. The system further comprises a member coupled to the slotted frame, the member comprising a first through-surface coupling portion. The system further comprising an arm comprising a second through-surface coupling portion, and a through-surface coupling mechanism for coupling through the first through-surface coupling portion and the second through-surface coupling portion, thereby providing an axis about which the arm can rotate.

Abstract: Embodiments of a Retail Merchandising Unit (RMU) comprise at least one door for securing items within the RMU. The door(s) comprises a transparent portion that provides security for the items contained in the RMU, while allowing at least a portion of such items to be viewed. Preferably, the transparent portion restricts access to the RMU's interior, while permitting at least a portion of the items that are secured within the RMU to be viewed through such transparent portion. The door(s) may further contain one or more shelves on which merchandise may be placed, wherein the shelves are arranged such that when the door(s) are closed the shelves are secured within the interior of the RMU. Preferably, the transparent portion of a door permits the items placed on the door's shelve(s) to be viewed by passersby. Embodiments of the RMU may provide a self-contained storefront for marketing and selling merchandise.

Abstract: A three dimensional modular retail display system and method for constructing the system where the three dimensional modular retail display comprises a base assembly, vertical members, horizontal members, various connector pieces, and display elements. The vertical members contain display connection elements that allow a retailer to connect industry-standard display elements to the vertical members without the use of additional hardware. The modular system allows a retailer to create free-standing displays containing various structural shapes and various display elements while maintaining a uniform look to the overall display. Such a free standing display may be place on the main counter of a Retail Merchandising Unit (RMU).
