Patent number: 11980511Abstract: The invention relates to a computer-implemented method for assessing a clearance between a tooth element to be provided with a dental restoration element and an antagonist of the tooth element. A 3D digital teeth model with 3D digital representations of the tooth element and of a surface area of the antagonist is received. The surface area is offset from the antagonist by adding an offset. The resulting offset surface area defines a limit for the tooth element. For the clearance it is checked, whether the tooth element violates one or more penetration criteria regarding the offset surface area. If the tooth element violates the one or more penetration criteria, the clearance is assessed to be insufficient for the tooth element to be provided with the dental restoration element. Else the clearance is assessed to be sufficient. The result of the assessment is output.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 2022Date of Patent: May 14, 2024Assignee: EXOCAD GMBHInventor: Iurie Chiosa

Patent number: 11903781Abstract: The invention relates to a method for configurating a split denture. A digital 3D model of the denture comprising a plurality of teeth is provided. The digital 3D model of the denture is split into a digital 3D model of a base part and a digital 3D model of a teeth part. The base part comprises a first artificial gingiva portion. Further, the base part is configured to support the teeth part. The teeth part comprises the plurality of teeth of the denture and a second gingiva portion. The teeth part is configured to be mounted on the base part. The digital 3D model of the split denture is provided for generating at least one of the base part and the teeth part.Type: GrantFiled: October 13, 2020Date of Patent: February 20, 2024Assignee: EXOCAD GMBHInventors: Maik Gero Gerth, Thanh T Nguyen, Wang Kui

Patent number: 11877901Abstract: The invention relates to a computer-implemented method for providing a template for a casting matrix configured for casting one or more artificial gingiva parts of a removable denture. The casting matrix comprises one or more recesses. Each of the recesses has a 3D geometric form, which is a negative of a 3D geometric form of a section of the removable denture with one of the artificial gingiva parts to be casted.Type: GrantFiled: November 19, 2021Date of Patent: January 23, 2024Assignee: EXOCAD GMBHInventor: Michael Kohnen

Patent number: 11514200Abstract: The invention relates to a method for modelling a patient-individualised denture part (140). The method comprises providing a digital three-dimensional patient situation model (118), a digital three-dimensional denture part model (114), and one or more geometric adaptation criteria defined using patient-specific delimiting surfaces. A denture part geometry of the denture part model is adapted in a patient-individualised manner to a patient situation geometry of the patient situation model. The patient-individualised adaptation process also comprises repeatedly interactively making user-defined changes to the denture part model, wherein the denture part model dynamically passes through a sequence of intermediate states during the course of each of the user-defined changes until a change state resulting from each user-defined change is reached.Type: GrantFiled: March 3, 2020Date of Patent: November 29, 2022Assignee: EXOCAD GMBHInventors: Iurie Chiosa, Maik Gerth, Tillmann Steinbrecher

Publication number: 20210298881Abstract: The invention relates to an assembly set for a removable partial denture comprising one or more replacement teeth as well as a framework with one or more retention sections. Each of the retention sections is configured to receive and retain one or more of the replacement teeth. Each of the replacement teeth comprises a bottom face with a surface structure configured to engage an assigned complementary retention structure provided by one of the retention sections of the framework configured to receive the respective replacement tooth. Each surface structure provides in combination with the assigned complementary retention structure a non-destructive detachable direct connection between the replacement tooth comprising the respective surface structure and the retention section comprising the respective assigned complementary retention structure.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 19, 2021Publication date: September 30, 2021Applicant: exocad GmbHInventor: Vincent Michael HAMMER
