Abstract: A bag having a tamper evident closure and methods of forming the same are provided. The bag has a tube body with a front wall and a back wall positioned between a first end and a second end. A back flap extension member connects to and extends outwardly from the second end of the back wall. A primer material is positioned on the back flap extension member and an adhesive material is placed on the back flap extension member that folds over to overlie and contact the primer material. The back flap extension member adheres to the front flap extension member and portions of the front wall to close the second end. When the back flap extension member liftingly separates from the front wall, at least one of the back flap extension member and the front wall tears indicating evidence of tampering.
Abstract: A multiwall bag having a slider zipper and fin combination and methods of forming same are provided. The multiwall bag, for example, can include a tube body. A combination fin member, zipper track, and zipper block can be connected to an end of the tube body. The other end of the tube body can be filled with product so that the combination fin member, zipper track, and zipper block operate as a constructive bottom during filling. Then, the end of the tube body through which product is filled can be closed and sealed to provide a bag filled with product. The method can include forming a tube body and connecting a combination fin member, zipper track, and zipper block to the bag seal zone.

Abstract: A packaging film having enhanced optical and mechanical properties so that a product surrounded by the film is clearly visible through the film and the film is sufficiently durable to be useful as packaging film. The packaging film including a first layer of elastomer; a second layer of polyolefin having a first surface abuttingly contacting a first surface of the elastomer; and a third layer of elastomer abuttingly contacting a second surface of the polyolefin. The second layer of polyolefin is positioned between the first and third layers of elastomer. The packaging film can also include oxygen barrier properties useful in applications requiring relatively high protection from oxygen and moisture.

Abstract: A non-fluorocarbon oil and grease barrier packaging for storing materials, particularly products that need oil and grease resistant characteristics. The barrier packaging does not contain fluorocarbons, which improves the environmental rating of the oil and grease barrier packaging. The packaging is made by applying an acrylate based overprint varnish to a substrate and then curing the overprint varnish with a curable energy source, which regulates a cross-link density of the overprint varnish. Application can be flexography, rotogravure, or either rod or blade coated. The overprint varnish possesses oil and grease resistant characteristics, which allows packaging producers to forego use of oil and grease resistant coated substrates in their packaging manufacturing processes.
