Abstract: A lifting assembly for lifting a load including a frame and a rotation member. The frame includes a central portion interconnecting two spaced apart lifting portions and a suspension space defined below the central portion and between the lifting portions. The central portion includes an aperture. Each lifting portion is configured to engage a lifting device, such as a fork lift. The rotation member is disposed above the aperture of the central portion. The rotation member is a ball joint including a ball member that rotates and pivots within a rotation cavity. A fastener member attaches to the ball member and is suspended through the aperture of the frame's central portion. The fastener member is attached to a load to lift and suspend the load within or below the suspension space while allowing rotation and pivoting of the load relative to the frame.

  • Patent number: 8864203
Abstract: A pipe lifting system including a lift bushing having a first outer surface, a second outer surface, a shoulder interconnecting the first and second outer surfaces, an inner bore extending from a first end surface to a second end surface, and a fastening mechanism operatively associated with the first outer surface or the second outer surface. The lift bushing is dimensioned to be inserted through a flange hole in a flange of a pipe to facilitate lifting of the pipe. The shoulder engages a shoulder of the flange hole. The fastening mechanism retains the lift bushing within the flange hole. The lift bushing is capable of remaining within the flange hole when the flange is attached to a flange of another pipe. The pipe lifting system may also include a shackle assembly capable of selectively engaging the inner bore of the lift bushing.

  • Publication number: 20110147009
Abstract: A drill pipe connector assembly capable of connecting drill pipe segments without rotation. The assembly includes the pin end of a first drill pipe stabbed within the connector end of a second drill pipe. A connector nut is threadedly connected or snap locked to the connector end of the second drill pipe. The connector nut includes a retaining shoulder cooperating with a beveled shoulder on the pin end of the first drill pipe to retain the first drill pipe. The assembly includes seals to provide pressure integrity and prevent leaking. Cooperating rotational torque transfer profiles in the first and second drill pipes enable operational rotation of the drill string.
