  • Patent number: 4329837
Abstract: An agricultural implement for raking or spreading crop lying on the field, for example, mown grass, comprising at least one carrier rotatably driven around an upright axis and having upright shaft pins arranged in a circle, on each of which is journalled in a freely pivotable manner a crop-engaging, tine-shaped element of non-circular cross section, wherein a flexible member independently of each element is arranged so that the tine-shaped element is held in an outwardly directed position with respect to the upright axis, said tine-shaped elements preferably consisting of two or more tines in overlying position the bending resistance in the vertical plane of the superjacent tines differs from that of the lower-tine.

  • Patent number: 4240245
Abstract: A device for baling cut crop, comprising a baling chamber having an inlet port and an outlet port and a compression member adapted to move in the baling chamber, the compressing stroke of the compression member extends along the inlet port to near the outlet port and is equal to or slightly larger than the distance between the inlet and outlet ports; a construction of the device according to the invention is suitable for making bundles having a materially higher "specific weight" than the generally known "straw bales".

  • Patent number: 4193251
Abstract: A mobile baler includes a horizontal baling chamber having a lateral collection chamber discharging thereinto. A ram moves back and forth across the discharge mount of the collection chamber and a closure member, controlling transfer of material from the collection chamber to the baling chamber, moves in concert with the ram. The baling chamber is normally closed at one end by a movable end wall and the drive means for the ram connects this end wall with the ram so that the end wall is held in closed position as the ram compresses material between it and the end wall.

  • Patent number: 4184426
Abstract: A compressive chamber of a baling device is open at both ends. Associated with one end is a movable closure member and a ram projects into the chamber from the opposite end. Drive mechanism directly connects the ram and the closure member so that in one direction of drive the closure member is forced into and held in closed position while the ram travels toward it and, in the opposite direction of drive, the ram and closure member are forced apart to unseat the closure member and move it to open position.

  • Patent number: 4184312
Abstract: A device for compressing crop, for example grass, hay or the like, into bales comprising a baling chamber and a ram adapted to reciprocate therein, provided with at least one retaining member operating in the compression chamber and removable therefrom, in order to prevent that after compression the crop rebounds so that part of the empty space between the crop already compressed and the retreating ram is re-occupied by the rebounding crop, the freshly introduced quantity of crop being thus reduced.

  • Patent number: 4154290
Abstract: A device for cooling castings and for treating moulding sand comprises a driven, rotatably journalled drum provided with internal catches extending substantially axially between an inlet end and an outlet end of the drum. For improving the stirring effect of the catches and for avoiding damage of castings and loss of valuable dust from the moulding sand, the catches have a stronger scooping effect near the inlet end than near the outlet end.

  • Patent number: 3958623
Abstract: Apparatus is disclosed which functions to adjust the moisture content of casting sand as it is being recovered, so that the sand may be re-used without significant or further adjustment of its water content. The apparatus includes a cooler-drier which receives hot castings and sand and discharges the sand and castings separately. A water spray impinges upon the sand and castings as they are moved through the cooler-drier and a temperature sensor which senses the temperature of the sand/castings mixture at the inlet controls the water spray so that the discharged sand possesses a uniform and selected moisture content.
