Abstract: A device for measuring permeability of a gas sample through a thin film, or a wall, arranged as a membrane between a first chamber and a second chamber of a measurement cell is provided that includes, a pressure regulator, upstream from each inlet to the measurement cell, that are each associated with a respective pressure sensor. A humidifier can be used, if desired. The device further includes that can switch the flows of gas between a starting wash step and a measurement step. Each gas flow is adjusted at the exit of the respective flow regulator. A control unit operates the pressure regulators and flow regulators to keep at predetermined values the total pressure in the first chamber and second chamber with those values maintained equal to each other.
Abstract: A device that carries out a method for measuring permeability to a gas sample through a container (2) comprises an inlet duct for the gaseous carrier, in particular, nitrogen, both as inlet in the container (2) and as inlet in the chamber (1) and out of the container (2) of which permeability has to be measured. The inlet duct that exits in the container (2) comprises two ducts (11 and 8), whereas the inlet duct that exits out of the container (2) comprises two ducts (6 and 7). Such inlet ducts have an origin in common in order to allow the distribution between them of the flow (200) of gas carrier as input. An inlet duct is provided (10) for a test gas flow, such as oxygen, which ends in the duct (7) to be measured, with the gas carrier in the chamber (1). A gas-mass regulator is provided for each inlet duct (5, 4 and 3).
Abstract: A device for measuring permeability to a gas sample through a thin film, or a wall (2), arranged at membrane between a first and a second chamber (3 and 4) of a measurement cell (1) comprises, upstream from each inlet to the measurement cell (1), a respective regulator of pressure (? and 9) associated with a respective pressure sensor (5 and 8), and can comprise an humifier. The device comprises, furthermore, valves (11 and 12) adapted to switch the flows of gas between a starting wash and a measurement step. Each gas flow is, moreover, adjusted at the exit means of a respective flow regulator (15 and 16). A control unit (23), operates the pressure regulators (6 and 9) and flow regulators (15 and 18) in order to keep at predetermined values the total pressure in the first and in the second chamber (3 and 4), said values being always equal to each other.
