  • Patent number: 8469013
Abstract: A compound archery bow comprises a riser, limbs, pulley members connected to the limbs, a draw cable, and a power cable. A first pulley member includes a draw cable journal, a power cable take-up mechanism, and coaxial axle segments extending from opposite sides of the pulley member. The effective lever arm of the power cable take-up mechanism decreases, during a latter portion of drawing the bow, from a distance that is greater than a radius of the axle segments to a minimum distance that is less than that radius. The first pulley member is further arranged so that, with the bow fully drawn, at least a portion of the power cable passes through at least a portion of a space between the first and second axle segments.

  • Patent number: 8459244
Abstract: An archery bow comprises a riser and a pair of bow limbs. The riser has a central portion and first and second end portions, each including a corresponding forward pivotable connection point and rearward bearing point substantially rigidly positioned on the corresponding end portion. A bearing member is positioned at each corresponding rearward bearing point. Each bow limb has a riser connection point and a pulley connection point, and is (i) pivotably connected at its riser connection point to the corresponding riser end portion at its pivotable connection point, (ii) positioned against the corresponding bearing member at a point along the bow limb between its riser and pulley connection points that is displaced from the riser connection point by at least one third of the distance between the riser and pulley connection points, and (iii) arranged at its pulley connection point to receive a pulley member pivotably connected thereto.

  • Patent number: 8082910
Abstract: A pulley assembly for a compound archery bow comprises a set of multiple power cable pulleys and a draw cable pulley. The draw cable pulley is arranged to be rotatably mounted on a bow limb, to let out the draw cable when the bow is drawn, and so as to have interchangeably mounted thereon any one of the multiple power cable pulleys. Each power cable pulley is arranged to take up the power cable when the bow is drawn. At least one of the power cable pulleys is arranged so as to result in substantially negligible let-off of draw force of the bow. At least one other of the power cable pulleys is arranged so as to result in substantial let-off of the draw force of the bow at a corresponding draw length.

  • Patent number: 8037876
Abstract: A bow comprises: a riser; first and second limbs attached to the riser; first and second pulley members rotatably connected to the respective bow limbs; draw, power, and tensioning cables; and a tensioning pulley. The draw cable engages draw cable journals of the pulley members and rotates them as the bow is drawn and the draw cable is let out from the draw cable journals. The tensioning cable is secured at its first end to the first bow limb and engaged at its second end to be taken up by a power cam of the first pulley member as the bow is drawn and the first pulley member rotates. The tensioning pulley includes a tensioning cable journal and is arranged with the tensioning cable engaged therewith. The power cable is connected at its first end to the tensioning pulley and at its second end to the second bow limb.

  • Patent number: 7832387
Abstract: An archery bow comprises an elongated riser, two coupling members, and two bow limbs. The riser has a pair of distal pivotable connection points, a pair of proximal pivotable connection points between the distal connection points, and a central handle portion between the proximal connection points. Each coupling member is pivotably connected at a first pivotable connection point thereof to the riser at a corresponding proximal connection point thereof. Each bow limb is pivotably connected to the riser at a corresponding distal pivotable connection point thereof and pivotably connected to a corresponding coupling member at a second pivotable connection point thereof. Each bow limb is adapted at a pulley pivotable connection point thereof to receive a pulley member pivotably connected thereto.

  • Patent number: 7784453
Abstract: A draw mechanism for a crossbow comprises a drive gear, coupling gear, retaining member, one-way rotary clutch, retainer, rotary drive member, tension member, and catch. The drive gear is coupled to the coupling gear. The retaining member and coupling gear are coaxially coupled by the one-way rotary clutch. The retainer releasably engages the retaining member. The coupling gear is coupled to the rotary drive member which is engaged with the tension member. The catch is connected to the tension member and retains a bowstring as the crossbow is drawn. Rotation of the coupling gear in one direction causes the rotary drive member to tension the tension member to move the catch to draw the crossbow. Engagement of the retainer with the retaining member retards rotation of the coupling gear in the other direction thereby retarding movement of the catch to “undraw” the crossbow. Release by the retainer allows movement of the catch to undraw the crossbow.

  • Patent number: 7770567
Abstract: A trigger assembly for a crossbow comprises a caliper, a trigger mechanism, a safety mechanism, and a bolt sensor. The caliper retains or releases a bowstring. The trigger mechanism holds the caliper against its bias to retain the bowstring, or releases the caliper to release the bowstring and fire the crossbow. The safety mechanism in a safety-on arrangement blocks the trigger mechanism or in a safety-off arrangement enables movement of the trigger mechanism. The bolt sensor biases the safety mechanism toward its safety-on arrangement when no bolt is present, or is held against its bias by a bolt to enable movement of the safety mechanism into its safety-off arrangement.

  • Publication number: 20100048306
Abstract: A multi video game changer is presented. A video game changer can comprise a magazine for holding multiple video game media. The changer receives instructions, possibly including software instructions, from a game console on how to access video game data on the game media. In response, the changer streams the game data to the game console while buffering small portions of the game data.
