  • Publication number: 20110069280
Abstract: A method and an apparatus are presented for determining ocular motor function in a patient. The patient is instructed to wear a pair of test glasses comprising a first lens having a first color and a second lens having a second color, where the first color and the second color differ. (N) light-emitting devices disposed in a screen are then activated in seriatim, where the (N) light-emitting devices can emit a light comprising the first color and where (N) is greater than 1. (N) images of the screen are synchronously captured upon receiving a signal from the patient indicating an activated light-emitting device is illuminated by a light comprising the second color. Finally, the (N) images are transformed into an ocular motor functioning map.

  • Publication number: 20110029005
Abstract: A device for performing an anterior capsulotomy procedure and a method using the same is presented. The device includes a body having a rotatable cutting element rotatably disposed on the proximal end. The cutting element further includes multiple surgical blades. In certain embodiments, the device further includes an arcuate member, wherein two surgical blades are attached at opposing ends and extend outwardly from the arcuate member. In using the device to perform an anterior capsulotomy, the device is inserted into an incision made in an eye and the surgical blades are brought in contact with the anterior capsule wall. The anterior capsule wall is then transformed by rotating the rotatable cutting element, creating an aperture there through.

  • Publication number: 20090004636
Abstract: A model human eye is disclosed. The model human eye comprises a extended hemispherical-shaped assembly comprising a center point, an open end defined by a first continuous distal end, a cornea portion symmetrically disposed around the center point, and a sclera portion disposed between the cornea portion and the first continuous distal end. The extended hemispherical-shaped assembly comprises an integral molding. The model human eye further comprises a lenticular bag disposed within the extended hemispherical-shaped assembly. The model human eye further comprises a base comprising a bottom and one or more walls attached to that bottom and extending outwardly therefrom, where the one or more walls comprise a second continuous distal end. The first continuous distal end is attached to the second continuous distal end to define an enclosed space.
