  • Patent number: 6439589
Abstract: A backlighted trailer step to facilitate a trailer users getting up onto a trailer for more convenient access to a load being carried, and which includes a backlighted cutout portion of the step for displaying indicia such as the trademark of the trailer. The lamps backlighting the indicia also provide a visual locator for the step in the dark, and function as a utility lamp to provide light for such things as servicing the trailer or changing tires at night, and increases safety by improving the visibility of the trailer to traffic approaching from the side.

  • Patent number: 5335934
Abstract: A trailer frame comprised of a tongue and longitudinal side frame members extending rearwardly from the tongue. The side frame members are formed of hollow tubing having top, bottom and side surfaces. Cross bar members are positioned between the longitudinal side frame members. An axle for mounting wheels and tires is also provided. A pair of fenders with mounting straps provide cover for the top portion of each of the tires and a pair of leaf springs is provided to suspend the axle from the trailer frame. The center portion of each of the springs is mounted to one end of the axle. Openings associated with each spring are formed in the bottom surface of each side frame member to allow the end portions of the leaf springs to be positioned within the interior of the tubing. Loops are formed at the ends of each leaf spring. Two bolts associated with each spring are horizontally positioned through the side surfaces of the side frame members above the openings.

  • Patent number: 5273391
Abstract: A bow stand for a boat trailer has a swingable bow arm assembly pivotally mounted on the bow stand post or column. A base plate permits mounting on the trailer tongue and a winch plate on the top of the post positions the boat winch above the base plate. The bow arm assembly is mounted on a transverse pivot to the post and carries a bow stop, e.g. a bow roller, at its free end. A spring yieldably urges the bow arm assembly to its normal raised position where the stop limits forward movement of the boat on the trailer. The spring permits the bow stop to deflect downward during boat launch to prevent the boat from hanging up on the bow stop when the boat is released from the trailer.

  • Patent number: 4997332
Abstract: A boat trailer which is characterized by laterally spaced longitudinally extending booms or side frame members and cross members which are supported from the side frame members at their ends on axially aligned pivots. The cross members laterally space the booms and have provision for selectively mounting thereon either pairs of transversely spaced longitudinally extending bars which carry assemblies of boat hull engaging members mounted thereon so as to pivot on longitudinally extending axes, or vertically extendable posts with the longitudinal bars and associated boat hull engaging members mounted thereon in elevated relation above the side frame members. The boat trailer eliminates the necessity of rigid cross frame members structurally interconnecting the side frame members, or booms, and enables the trailer structure to be readily adapted to carry either shallow draft, shoal draft, or deep keel boats having various hull configurations.
