Patents Assigned to F.LLI Citterio S.p.A.
  • Patent number: 8962123
Abstract: A structure for ballistic protections is described. The structure includes at least two distinct textile elements which co-operate to stop an incident bullet along a direction, taking advantage of the dissipation of the energy associated to the bullet impact. The first textile element includes fibers capable of dissipating a part of the energy connected to the incident bullet impact owing to a crystalline phase change. The second textile element includes fibers capable of dissipating a part of energy associated to the incident bullet impact by fibrillation.

  • Publication number: 20100307629
Abstract: The present invention refers to a method for continuous production of a textile structure resistant to perforation and penetration, comprising the steps consisting in: a) simultaneously weaving two fabric elements (ES, EI) overlapped and spaced from each other, wherein each of the two fabric elements comprises a bundle of warp threads (1) which are at least partially made of ballistic threads and which are arranged parallel to each other on a first plane, a bundle of weft threads (2) which are at least partially made of ballistic threads and which are arranged parallel to each other on a second plane overlapped to the first and oriented at 90° with respect to said warp threads (1) and a stabilization weave (3) interwoven between the warp (1) and weft (2) threads of said two overlapped planes and made of first binding threads (30, 31); b) joining, during said step of weaving said two fabric elements (ES, EI) overlapped and spaced from each other, the upper fabric element (ES) and the lower fabric element (EI)

  • Patent number: 7458103
Abstract: A flexible penetration-resistant package is described, comprising a) at least one laminate consisting of at least one layer of yarns comprising fibers with a strength of at least 900 MPa as per ASTM D-885, wherein the layer of yarns is bound to at least one polymer continuum having a modulus of elasticity in extension of 5 to 1000 MPa as per ASTM D-882 and wherein the package has an outer surface facing the side under attack and an inner surface facing away from the side under attack, and b) a layer of compressible material, the layer arranged either on the inner surface of the package or at such a position in the package between the laminates that from this position the number of laminates toward the outer surface of the package is at least twice the number of laminates toward the inner surface. The package is used to produce protective clothing, in particular protective vests, suits, and mats.

  • Patent number: 6000055
Abstract: A multiaxial, multilayer fabric (10), suitable for being used for ballistic uses, wherein the threads of a layer (20) are oriented at a whatever angle comprised within the range of from 0 to 360.degree. relatively to the direction of the thread of an adjacent layer (30).Between the individual layers (20, 30) a layer (40) of either thermoplastic or thermosetting material, or of a bonding substance is interposed, so that the resulting structure, after suitable processing, can be used as a protective garment (60) for sheltering parts of human body, displaying extremely good characteristics of ballistic strength, drapeability, comfort and safety, with lower production costs than prior art.A process for producing the above mentioned fabric (10) comprising one single step of compressing a plurality of layers (20, 30) of threads which are arranged with layers (40) of thermoplastic or thermosetting materials, or of bonding substances alternately interposed between them.
