Abstract: This invention is a tamper evident container having a base and removable lid comprising a pull tab and a lid surface, wherein the base and lid fit together with an interference fit. The pull tab extends toward the center of the lid surface and away from a base portion of the pull tab, the base portion being located at an edge of the lid. The pull tab further comprises a pull tab portion having a first side that is attached to a first tab marker by a first frangible line, and a second side that is attached to a second tab marker by a second frangible line. The pull tab portion overlays at least one detent that marginally biases the pull tab portion away from the lid surface.

Abstract: A container which includes a base and a lid connected together at a common juncture defining a hinge. The base has a bottom wall, an upstanding sidewall connected to the bottom wall with the hinge being oriented along a region adjacent an upper edge of the sidewall. A first flange extends generally laterally from at least opposite ends of the hinge and outwardly from the sidewall adjacent the upper edge of the sidewall. The first flange includes an upwardly facing surface. The lid has a top wall and a downwardly depending skirt connected to the top wall and extending at a perimeter thereof at least laterally from the opposite ends of the hinge outside of and in close proximity to the first flange. The skirt has a lower edge which, in a closed position of a lid, terminates at a position below the first flange. The lower edge, in an open position of the lid, is oriented above and rests on the upwardly facing surface of the first flange so as to releasably hold the lid in a predetermined open position.
Abstract: A tamper-evident closure for a wide mouth container. The closure member has a central panel and a downwardly opening rim cavity encircling the central panel and adapted to receive therein a top rim of the food container. The rim cavity is defined by a pair of upstanding, radially spaced skirt segments connected at their respectrive upper edges by a top rim segment. A radially outer one of the skirt segments has adjacent a lower edge thereof a radially inwardly projecting and circumferentially extending first flange adapted to snugly fit under and frictionally engage the lip on the food container. In addition, the radially outer skirt also has a radially outwardly projecting second flange contiguous with and oriented below the first flange. A plurality of generally inverted V-shaped radially outwardly projecting rim segments are integrally connected between each set of mutually adjacent circumferential ends of at least the second flange.
