  • Patent number: 6679141
Abstract: At least one of two components (1, 3) of a coupling includes a profile with four splines (5) having more or less radial edges (11). Four straight-line segments (6) on the inside of the profile are joined with the splines. The four straight-line segments (6) are designed to circumscribe a standardized square drive (14). • Patent number: 6591505
Abstract: A knife having a handle (7), at least one blade (3) mounted so that it can pivot on the handle (7) between a position in which it is retracted into the handle (7) and an open work position, and a member (31, 41) for locking the blade (3) in the open position. In the open position, the blade makes an angle with respect to the main direction of the handle that is appreciably greater than 10° and appreciably smaller than 90°, preferably between 20° and 60°, and preferably roughly equal to 40°. The knife has application as a two-bladed electrician's knife for cutting and stripping electric cables.

  • Patent number: 6557441
Abstract: A tool (1) comprising a head (4) having at least two engaging surfaces (10) for driving the screwing member by its at least partially matching shape and a device (5) for driving the head rotation. The head globally behaves as a single-piece part when the screwing member is driven in rotation. The head includes a zone (7) linking the engaging surfaces and parts (9) transmitting to the engaging surfaces a rotation force applied on the driving device. The linking zone is located between the force-transmitting parts and the engaging parts. The head is designed such that the action of the rotational driving device on the force-transmitting parts tends to deform the shape of the head so as to bring the engaging surfaces closer to each other when a rotational driving force is applied via the driving device on the screwing member. The present invention is, for example, applicable to flat open-end wrenches.

  • Patent number: 6269715
Abstract: A ratchet wrench (1) with a single-piece jaw (3) having two positions for driving a hexagonal head (4), in particular of a screw or a nut. In each driving position, two opposite surfaces of the head (41,42) are driven by respective protuberances (P2, P7) of the two grips of the jaw, and a supplementary protuberance (P5) is urged in localized support in the front half of an intermediate surface (43) of the head located immediately in front of the rear surface. Thus, the inner profile of the jaw has six main protuberances, with an angular offset of 24 to 28° between two groups of three protuberances.

  • Patent number: 6266886
Abstract: A hydraulic punch (1) having a hydraulic ram (2) and a hydraulic pump (3). The hydraulic pump having a body (4) and a reservoir having a longitudinal axis (XX) being secured to the ram and equipped with a manual operating lever (12). The ram is articulated to the pump body about an axis of rotation (ZZ) which is inclined with respect to the longitudinal axis (XX) of the pump reservoir. The ram (2) has a cylinder (7) containing a piston (8) and a ram end (9) forming a connection with the body (4) of the pump (3) to which it is rotatably articulated. An indexing device such as a ball (15) pushed by a spring and housed in indentations in the body (4) or in the ram end (9) allow the ram (2) to be kept in a chosen angular position (parallel or perpendicular) with respect to the pump (3). Furthermore, a longitudinal pull axis (YY) of the ram (2) is offset laterally from and parallel to the longitudinal axis (XX) of the reservoir of the pump (3).

  • Patent number: 6227080
Abstract: Locking grips (1) designed so that their latch lock mechanism (8) cannot travel beyond a point of alignment of its three points but locks, slightly set back with respect to this alignment, by the snap-fastening of a relief (30) of a catch (28) borne by a lever (10) behind a tooth (19) of a front end of a link (13). The catch (28) forms a trigger (28A) which allows the locking grips to be opened in a controlled way after the lever (10) has been released.

  • Patent number: 6145416
Abstract: A tool includes an adapter for coupling to a rotary element such as a screwing/unscrewing socket. The adapter is equipped with a mechanism for locking the coupling. The lock mechanism is unlockable and normally locked. The tool further includes a main drive member for rotating the adapter, and the main drive member includes, for example, a ball-type universal joint. The lock mechanism is unlocked simply by a displacement of the main drive member towards the distal end of the adapter.

  • Patent number: 6134994
Abstract: Pliers comprise two branches having an area forming a handle rigid with the branch and having, at least in a proximal part, a cross section whose profile is convex or essentially convex. The branches are pivoted to each other in a region including a coupler and extend beyond the coupler to define jaws. Each handle has, at least in its proximal part, a cross section which has, relative to its mid-line which is parallel to a median plane of the coupler, an asymmetric external profile with a shape which dips more sharply toward one side of the handle. In plan view, in the proximal part of each handle, the geometrical locus of the mid-points of segments perpendicular to the median plane forms a curve whose convex side is directed toward the aforementioned one side of the handle. Applications include gripping pliers such as flat-nose or round-nose pliers, universal pliers and adjustable pliers.

  • Patent number: 6089131
Abstract: A ratchet wrench having an open end (18) defined by front (20) and rear (22) jaws, in relation to a driving direction. The jaws are linked by an intermediate arcuate web (24). Each jaw includes an engagement surface (30, 36) for engaging the front half of a front surface (32) and a rear surface (38), respectively, of the head of a part to be turned. A projection (42) is provided on the arcuate web for engaging a bearing point (43) on an intermediate head surface (44) located immediately ahead of the rear surface (38) when no torque is applied and over the full range of applied torques. The bearing point (43) of the projection (42) is located in the front half of the intermediate surface (44). The entire arcuate web (24) is spaced apart from the head (28), except at the bearing point (43), when torque is applied as well as when no torque is applied.

  • Patent number: 5986694
Abstract: With employment of two images acquired by imaging an imaging object at two different positions and also parameters of a camera under imaging operation at these positions, both the imaging positions with respect to an origin, and also positions of the imaging object with respect to both the imaging positions are obtained as three-dimensional vectors. With employment of the calculated three-dimensional vector of the imaging position with respect to the origin and also the three-dimensional vector of the imaging object position with respect to the imaging position, the imaging object position with respect to the origin is mapped as the three-dimensional vector.
