Abstract: A precision machine tool spindle is mounted in a housing and machine frame by means which maintain the working end of the spindle in a fixed axial position while allowing the driven end to shift axially due to thermal expansion.The foregoing abstract is not to be taken either as a complete exposition or as a limitation of the present invention.
