  • Patent number: 4468597
Abstract: The power supply to an electric actuating motor is regulated by reducing the differences between current intensity or voltage and a reference value. Two transducers measure the current intensity and the voltage. A selection stage chooses the higher of the two values and a comparison stage delivers a difference signal with respect to the reference value established by a stage of the potentiometer type. A regulator produces an action which is compared within a comparator with a sawtooth signal emitted by an oscillator. Depending on the sign of the comparison, a control stage supplies the motor during a variable fraction of the period of the oscillations.

  • Patent number: 4413710
Abstract: A movable structure for supporting a current-collector bow is pivotally mounted on a frame and lifted by means of a spring attached to the structure and to the frame. Upper members of the bow support structure permit displacement of the bow independently of the structure. Hook-engagement means or valve units are provided for neutralizing the lifting spring and transmission means are provided for connecting the bow-displacement means to the spring-neutralizing means. A load limiter inhibits the bow-displacement means below a predetermined load threshold value and releases the bow above this value.

  • Patent number: 4377731
Abstract: The device is intended to cut-off the supply of electric power to a motor (4) automatically when this latter is locked rotationally under the action of a mechanical resistance. This device comprises balls (5) coupled for rotation with the motor (4) and displaceable under the action of the centrifugal force generated at the time of rotation of this motor, these balls (5) being in cooperating relation with an electric contact (9) in order to put the electric power supply of the motor (4) in circuit when this centrifugal force attains a certain threshold value and in order to put this supply out of circuit when this centrifugal force drops under the action of the mechanical resistance set up in opposition to the torque exerted by the motor.Utilization in particular in automatic devices for the control of opening and closing of garage doors.

  • Patent number: 4357501
Abstract: A trolley pole mechanism for an electric vehicle fitted with an auxiliary power source draws power from overhead lines in a raised position. Its terminal unit comprises two contact heads, sensors responsive to contact with an overhead line, and head guides. A linkage articulated to the roof of the vehicle supports the terminal unit and maintains it perpendicular to and allows it to move perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle. In one embodiment the linkage comprises two trolley poles each supporting a respective contact head. In an alternative embodiment the terminal unit is coupled to the roof of the vehicle by a single trolley pole which carries a linkage defining two articulated parallelograms. The linkage includes a tube which pivots about a horizontal axis on a turret on the roof of the vehicle swivelling about a vertical axis.

  • Patent number: 4305227
Abstract: The emergency-opening sliding door comprises at least one door-leaf constituted by a panel which is stationarily fixed with respect to a panel frame attached to the door casing and at least one movable panel coupled to the frame by means of a roller track which permits displacement of the movable panel in sliding motion in a direction parallel to the fixed panel. The door is provided with an articulation system for permitting a movement of rotation of at least one of the panels about a vertical axis. The driving means for displacement in sliding motion are secured to the panel frame so as to be driven together with the frame in its movement of rotation.

  • Patent number: 4240226
Abstract: The device for guiding and actuating a vertical air-tight sliding door is suspended from two carriages each provided with a right-angled support bracket which is capable of horizontal displacement in a slideway. A bent plate which carries the door is rotatably mounted on an elbowed shaft fixed on each carriage. The bent plate carries a roller controlled by a fork and plate assembly which is pivotally mounted on the shaft and actuated by a jack. As the roller reaches the end of the track, the fork and plate assembly is permitted to rotate, with the result that the door carries out a compound movement of downward displacement and application against the wall.

  • Patent number: 4198909
Abstract: The track brake is intended to limit the speed of rolling motion of a freight car according to the track gradient in a marshalling yard. A retarder installed along a braking rail comprises a number of braking tappets each having a portion which projects above the braking rail in the rest position and each being applied in turn beneath each wheel of the car to be braked. The track brake comprises a motion converter constituted by a series of rockers each pivotally mounted on a pin connected to the braking rail. One portion of each rocker cooperates with a braking tappet and another portion of the rocker cooperates with a piston-rod of a substantially horizontal hydraulic brake cylinder.

  • Patent number: 4198786
Abstract: A sliding door of the type employed in public transport vehicles and driven by an electric motor comprises at least one door-leaf coupled with a nut mounted on an endless screw which is driven in rotation in order to open and/or close the door. The nut is displaced in translational motion within a guide which prevents rotational motion. The locking device comprises means for interrupting the translational displacement of the guided nut at the end of travel and for permitting angular rotation of the nut with the endless screw, means for limiting the angular displacement of the nut and finally means for limiting the translational motion of the nut if it is displaced along the endless screw and no longer engaged in the guide.

  • Patent number: 4188889
Abstract: A movable step displaceable by means of an operating mechanism between a withdrawn position and a service position has an extension in the form of two transverse arms associated with two pairs of link-arms which are pivotally mounted on four shafts having horizontal and parallel axes. Two shafts are stationarily fixed on the floor of the railway car, the second shaft being set back from the first with respect to the car wall. The other two shafts are movable and attached respectively to the transverse arms near the point of connection of these arms to the step, and to the transverse arms at the ends which are pivotally attached to the rear link-arms. Stable immobilization of the step is achieved in the service position as a result of abutting application of the articulations of the transverse arms and of the rear link-arms against a stop.
